She had hardly taken any rest at all, so her falling ill was an expected turn of events.
Once Hao Yansen found out, he immediately ordered her not to do anything! She had to take a good few days of rest.
Mo Jun felt that she just had a cold and a fever, perhaps he was being a bit too anxious.
"I just need to take some medicine and I’ll be fine, my medicine is very effective," Mo Jun said to comfort him.
Hao Yansen’s expression left no room for negotiation, "Even if you’re better, you need to rest for a few days. You’re not allowed to do anything during this time."
"But there’s so much waiting for me to do in the studio..."
"I’ll rest with you, I haven’t taken a break in a long time either," said Hao Yansen, and with that, Mo Jun gave in.
Alright, he was indeed more formidable!
If he insisted on stopping her from working, she certainly wouldn’t be able to rest willingly. But now that he had used his own need for rest as an excuse, she had no choice but to accompany her husband!
After all, in her heart, nothing is more important than his health.
Hao Yansen shared the same sentiment, willing to put aside his work to be with her, for in his heart, nothing was more important than her health.
And so, Hao Yansen took her to a rural retreat to recuperate, where both of them turned off their phones and didn’t contact anyone, living a life that was theirs alone.
The feeling of being cut off from the outside world with their phones turned off was very comfortable for Mo Jun.
It was as if all the pressure, worries, everything had disappeared, and there was only her and Hao Yansen.
Hao Yansen even decided they should live off the land, meaning they had to figure out themselves what they wanted to eat, with no option to buy from outside.
This primitive lifestyle made her inexplicably look forward to it!
Aside from seasoning, the kitchen was devoid of any ingredients.
Mo Jun asked Hao Yansen, "What are we having for dinner?"
Hao Yansen smiled and stroked her head, "What would you like to eat?"
"I want to eat tomato and scrambled eggs, and chicken stewed with mushrooms!" Mo Jun said with a teasing smile, thinking it would stump him, but he agreed readily.
"Let’s go, I’ll take you mushroom picking," said Hao Yansen, pulling her out the door.
They drove to the foot of a mountain, and then Mo Jun followed him up...
In her entire life, Mo Jun had never walked through the mountains, and she found it quite novel. Breathing in the scent of the grass and trees made her feel very comfortable.
"Are there really mushrooms here?" she asked, holding onto Hao Yansen’s clothes, following closely behind him.
"Mhm, there have been several heavy rains recently, so there should be some," he replied.
"What kind of plants do mushrooms grow on?" Mo Jun asked, curious again.
In fact, her knowledge of common things was quite limited. Since she was young, she had been closely guarded, allowed to do nothing but study.
There were many things she knew of, but had never personally encountered...
She, like many kids who grew up in big cities, could only talk of things she had never experienced, but rarely interacted with nature.
Hao Yansen turned to look at her with a smile, his lips curving as he spoke in a low voice, "Mushrooms are a type of fungus, they need decomposing plants to grow. So look for places with lots of dead leaves, or rotting trees."
"I see, okay!" Mo Jun took the search seriously and finally found some mushrooms.
She was immediately thrilled, "I found some, here! Hao Yansen look, I found mushrooms!"
