Chapter 23: Luke's Suspicions
"So, you saw me and Alvida together, didn't you?" I ask after listening to her explanation.
Lana nods, her gaze fixed on the ground.
"Then, what was that all about?" I press further, feigning anger.
"I'm sorry, Master!" Lana blurts out, bowing her head rapidly while her eyes are almost teary.
"But more importantly, Lana..." I begin, the atmosphere in the room shifting. Lana stiffens, sensing the change as I narrow my eyes at her. "You're not just a normal maid, are you? Something feels off. I didn't notice at first, but now... I have my suspicions." I say, pressing my finger to her forehead.
"Probe." The moment the word leaves my lips, I'm hit with a barrage of error messages from my system. "Probe," a hidden skill far more advanced than "Inspect," usually reveals deeper insights about a person. But this time, it failed.
Whenever I use "Inspect" on Lana, it shows the stats of an ordinary maid—something I now know is fake. The fact that "Probe" didn't work means she's either hiding her true power... or she's something beyond my understanding.

"Shh." I silence her by pressing my finger to her lips.
"Honestly, Lana, there's no need to explain. You don't seem like someone who'd harm me. And since my mother personally brought you here, I'm guessing this is part of one of her schemes," I say with a smile, shaking my head at my mom's endless plotting.
"How... how did you know?" Lana whispers, her eyes wide with shock as she stares at me like I'm some sort of monster.
"It wasn't hard to figure out. The first time we were having sex, I noticed something strange when I touched the necklace you always wore. There was a strange aura around it... and the way you reacted was off. I didn't think much of it at the time, but when I felt the same aura again while you held that folded paper, things clicked. You were faster than a normal maid.
So, I realized you weren't ordinary. And after that day you went out with my mother, the necklace disappeared. Let me guess, you told her I was suspicious of it, didn't you? So she found another way to hide your powers."
"Master... I'm sorry for not telling you the truth," Lana mutters, looking down in guilt. "I can explain everything."
"Lana, I'll say this again—you're not a threat to me. What bothers me is the secrecy. But you don't have to explain anything if you're not ready. Tell me when you feel comfortable." I shrug, trying to put her at ease.
Lana meets my gaze for a moment before bowing deeply.
"Thank you for understanding, Master. But I want you to know—I'm not here to harm you or act with any malicious intent. The Duchess truly has your best interests at heart, and so do I. Everything I've done has been genuine. However, I ask for your forgiveness for keeping things from you. I promise I won't hide anything from you again," Lana says earnestly, her hands clasped in apology.
I chuckle softly at her words.
"Lana, I think you're missing something important. My mom may be notorious for her schemes, but she would never do anything to hurt me or put me in danger. Every move she's made has been for the benefit of the Hunter family. So, to put it simply, I trust her—and I trust you. I just hope you'll find the right time to tell me everything, including why you're so eager to stay close to me—hopefully before I leave for the academy," I say, gently patting her head.
Although I have a vague idea why my mother made Lana my maid, I won't jump to conclusions. Who knows? She could be a secret guard... or something else entirely.
The next moment, I glance at Lana, then down at my now-erect cock.
"Lana, even though I've forgiven you, you know you still need to be punished, right?" I ask.
Her body shudders at my words, and her face flushes deep red.
"I... I deserve to be punished, Master," she stammers. But before I can respond, she begins trembling, collapsing onto the floor as her body convulses violently and her eyes roll back.
