Logically, I wasn't meant to be pissed or even care about finding out about Tomison and my brother, but I was, and I wasn't going to deny the fact. Maybe it was because I expected her to tell me about it or because I felt it was too fast or because I knew Rotimi wasn't going to take her all that serious and it was going to end up affecting our relationship.
'But I've promised to start minding my business I thought. 'Damn the promise' I cleared my thoughts.
"You can't take her to that party." I said. Rotimi was chewing gum and typing on his phone. He looked up and asked,
"What did you say?"
"I said you can't take Tomison to that party."
"I know, that's what I heard the first time, I meant, why?"
'Why? Why did he have to ask," Why"'
"Because she's my friend that's why"
"I knew that was what your answer was going to be. But I don't see why I shouldn't go out with a girl just because she's your friend"
"So it'll be cool if I go out with one of your friends?"
"That's a totally different situation" he said and stopped typing.
"And why's that? Because I'm a girl"
"Because my friends are way older than you are"
"And mine isn't way younger than you are?"
"Hey, listen, Tomi likes me, and I also dig her and I'm going to date her. You better live with it"
"You barely even know her!" I raised my voice.
"That's why I want to date her, to get to know her. That's how dating works for your information. I wonder why you're getting all worked up all over it. It's not like the girl in question is complaining or is she?"
"The 'girl in question' who happens to be my friend didn't even tell me about the both of you"
"Probably, because she just accepted few minutes ago. I'm sure she's going to giggle as she tells you about it first thing tomorrow morning."
"What makes you think she'll giggle just because you asked her out? Come to think of it, maybe she only accepted because I'm your sister and she didn't want to look bad or something"
"Or because she found me simply irresistible." He said it in a way that got me pissed as...... I ran up to my room and picked my phone up, expecting to meet tons of missed calls from Tomison, but the only missed call I had was from an unknown number. I swiped the call log off not only because I didn't know the person but because I didn't have airtime to call back. Whoever it was was going to have to call again. I turned my data instead as I told myself that tomison was going to have tons of messages waiting for me on Facebook. I was about to click on the Facebook application when I suddenly saw a whatsapp notification from what looked like the same unknown number that called. I was curious to know who the person was so I clicked on the message. I was glad to find out that the person was online. The message read,
"HEY, it's your real life Santa"
I replied.
"Sorry, but I don't know you or any Santa"
"Really? Didn't you give Santa your phone number yesterday?"
Obinna.
"I'm guessing you're the creepy Konga boy"
"Knew you were smart."
"What do you want?"
"Trust me; I want a lot of things in life, but only two things from you"
"Which are?"
"first of all, I want to know you better, secondly, I need you to stay away from that place you saw me"
What was he talking about?
"Your house?"
"Technically where I live, but yes, stay away from my house"
For someone that wanted to know me better, he sounded pretty strange.
"I wasn't actually planning on becoming a regular caller at the place, but I'm curious. Why do you want me to stay away from the place."
"Because I like you. Now let's change the topic.
He liked me? That was why he wanted me far away from his house? How in the world did that make any sense? Wasn't it supposed to be the other way round?
"What's it these days with people liking people they don't even know. Is that the new trend or what?"
"More like that's the way things work in the world. Where do you live? Under a rock?"
"You've been to where I live twice so......"
"hmmmmm, smart girl"
"You've called me that twice. So back to the topic, why don't you want me to come over?"
"Because I don't want you getting embarrassed by security."
"Konga boy, we both know that didn't make sense. Try again."
"Argh! I'll tell you when next we meet"
"Uhm, what do you mean by when next we meet? I don't plan on meeting you again"
Blunt but fact.
"Well, I guess we'll see about that. Goodnight I'll talk to you later"
A part of me wanted to type 'PLEASE DON'T' in block letter, but another part didn't mind talking to him again. To be sincere, he wasn't all that bad to chat with.
"Goodnight? It's only 6 in the evening."
"Does this mean you still want to chat with me because I'm going to have to disappoint. I still have to deliver a couple of things to some people and I have to make use of my hands, to you know? Ride"

"You really love to feel yourself don't you? I quiet understand why you do, I mean. Your dad owns the school I attend and all, but I can't help but wonder why you work in the online store when you have a whole lot of options."
"I presume you found out about my dad's ownership of the school from my late brother uh?"
"That's not the point. The point is why do you work when you have a wealthy dad?"
