Aisha kept blowing my inbox with text messages, some which I had to reply and others which I gladly ignored. I was gazing at a picture of my late mum when one of her texts came through
<Murderer A> Hello!
<Murderer A> Are you Ignoring my texts or are you just super busy?
<Murderer A> Anyway, I've gotten your building figured out, I'm dropping by, see you in ten.
What the hell! This is a sick joke right
? I thought as I quickly typed my reply.
<Me> Hey, just saw your texts, sorry I couldn't reply earlier. Was super busy. I'm at my grandparents place, there's literally no one important at home.
I hit send and bit my nails as I anticipated her response.
<Murderer A> Ouch!
<Murderer A> Was really looking forward to hanging out with you.
<Me> Aw. Why don't you just call Emma and Tobi?
<Murderer A> LOL. It's Emem not Emma and she's busy in between shopping and preparing for her schooling overseas, while Tobi is no where to be connected to.
I was going to give her an excuse, but suddenly an idea popped in my head. I dialed Roland's number.
"Hey, sis"
"Hey, Roland. Aisha wants to come over here"
"Hell no, that's like the worse idea, it could jeopardize all of our plans"
I'm not retard. Duh!
"I know, but I think it would be a good idea to get to talk to her, might unlock a few things about her parents and the things they do"
"Hmm, smart one, don't meet her at home or at her place, set up a date at the closest restaurant, make sure you're fully wired, don't forget the recording device and hey, be careful. Don't..."
"Let your emotions jeopardize everything, I know. I'll be careful."
"I'll tell the Changs to give you some money and also have you watched"
"Fine, thanks brother."
"Anytime, Remi. Be careful." and he handed up.
As expected, they were loads to texts from Aisha wanting to know why I wasn't replying anymore.
<Me> Sorry I took so long, I actually also hate it when people reply late, well I was actually talking to my parents about leaving this place and they agreed, so let's meet up at Domino's instead. We'll hang out there. That works for you?
<Murderer A> Yayyyy. I'll be waiting for you.
<Me> I'll be there in 20 minutes.

Yeah, I lied, I actually took my time to get prepared. I think I got to the pizza place later than 20 Minutes, in fact, if my calculation was correct I arrived an hour and thirty minutes later. Apart from the fact that I wasn't excited and eager to see Aisha, it also takes a while to get wired up.
"Yay, you're finally here" Aisha shouted and stood up, attracting the attention of literally everyone in the restaurant.
"Yeah, sorry. Traffic was terrific. I thought you might have given up on me or something." I said as I took a seat.
"I like your hair, it looks so African" she said and gave a face that asked if she could feel the texture of my hair. I shrugged.
"I actually used to have silky flowy bang but the weather of Nigeria changed the destiny of my hair" I lied and laughed.
"Hey, your hair is not so bad, what if you now see Emem's hair? You'll just thank Nigeria for the destiny of your hair, When we were in Secondary school, she would add attachments to her hair to make it look healthier and longer" she said and laughed. How come I never noticed, to think that I always thought Emem's hair was the most impressive. Damn!
"I still think she's beautiful though." I said and shrugged, I didn't want to come off as the type that stewed for information.
"Trust me, she's envious of you" Aisha said. There was literally no limit to her backstabbing.
"Envious of me, why?"
"Are you kidding? You're like very beautiful. You have no idea how pretty you are"
"Aw, thanks. I think you all are more beautiful, with your beautiful dark skins" truth be told, I actually appreciated my ebony dark skin to this pale paper one. The more I thought of the reason why that changed the more I wanted to strangle the bastard smiling in front of me.
"Oh, please, anyone here would kill to have your skin. Do you know Emem's Boyfriend couldn't stop talking about you?"
Wait, what?
"March?, why? Did I do something wrong?"
She laughed a bit. "No you didn't, except if you count cuteness as something wrong."
I pretended to be embarrassed. "but he's got a girlfriend"
"Oh, please. We basically forced him on Emem. In fact, he used to be my boyfriend. I got tired of him and decided to pass him on to Em cos I noticed that she had a thing or two for him."
"You talk about him like he's your dog or something." I smirked.
"Actually, let's just say he owes us his life" she said and laughed.
A felt a buzz in my ear. "I got that" Roland said.
"Is something wrong with you?" Aisha asked, noticing my slight flinch.
"Yeah, I'm just a little bit hungry. Have you ordered?"
"No, I was waiting for you guys"
"we...guys?" I asked, confused.
"Yeah, Oh! I forgot to tell you that I invited Obinna too."
I froze.
