Silas closed his eyes; he was ready for her to demand something sky-high and said,
"Okay. Tell me how many gold bars you want."
After the arrival of the zombies, food became scarce, even with money and gold, Silas’s family was only able to secure food for 20 people, or for the next 5 years.
Blackthorns were a powerful and wealthy family; however, other rich families weren’t stupid. The same goes for the general public.
With so many people hoarding food, even with money and connections, Blackthorns acquired only a few varieties, mainly including but not limited to instant noodles, canned fruits, canned meat, canned vegetables, canned soup, white rice, pasta of different kinds, seasonings, coffee, etc.
Though it seemed a lot, even if they become frugal, they won’t last more than 7 years.
One extra bento box might not seem significant, but if used smartly, it will last a day.
Not to mention... Silas looked at Ivy. He planned to tell others that Ivy had contributed the bento package. Though not much, he will have a proper excuse to slip some extra food to Ivy later.
"I don’t want gold bars; they are way too cheap. I want one kiss." Ivy leaned toward him and chuckled.
Internally, Ivy was panicking. Because, for some reason, she couldn’t control her body at all! All the words seem to be flowing out of her mouth without any restraint.
Silas stammered, his heart sped up, and the surroundings seemed to have blurred. "You... you want a kiss?"
Ivy, with a seductive expression, tucked her hair behind her ears. She swayed from side to side before tucking on Silas’s collar and pulling him toward hers, such that their lips were just inches apart.
Their hot breath interwined as Ivy licked her lips, her tongue inadvertently touching Silas’s upper lip, a low groan escaped Silas’s lips.
He stared into Ivy’s which seemed to be filled with affection and exhilaration, shot through his heart.
The slight wet touch was enough to ignite the desire surging in his heart.
"Ivy..." He whispered softly, his eyes staring back at her with the same intensity.
Ivy chuckled, a hint of mischief flashing in her eyes,
"What? Not capable of doing it?"
"Don’t..." Silas warned her. He didn’t have much self-control when it came to Ivy. Till now, he never dared to imagine getting intimate with Ivy, knowing she doesn’t have any feelings for him.
However, now... those affectionate eyes and seductive action were enough to make Silas feel an ache in his lower body.
The breaking point was when Ivy caressed his red earlobes with her index finger and murmured,
"You are a coward. Can’t you be more bold? Are you even, man? Or do you want me to initiate everything since your knees have gone soft? Don’t tell me you have cum just from my touches..."
Silas’s eyes flashed with lust, and he moved with lightning speed. His one hand wrapped around Ivy’s waist, and the other cupped the back of her head.
Tilting his head, his lips were about to crash into Ivy’s lips when suddenly Ivy fainted. Her body, losing all strength, started to fall down.
The lust coursing through Silas’s body instantly faded, replaced by fear.
"Ivy? Ivy? What happened?"
He patted her cheeks lightly before picking her up into a princess hug and rushing to his room. Placing Ivy on the bed, he checked her temperature.
Nothing. It was normal.
Not satisfied with his findings, he checked her pulse, which was normal too. Thinking about her strange behavior earlier, Silas started to feel that something was amiss.
He stayed by her side till evening. In the evening, Ivy woke up. It took her some time to get accustomed to the bright light.
"You are awake? Do you want to drink water?" Silas asked. And it was only then did Ivy realized there was someone else in the room.
She blinked before asking softly,
"What happened to me?"
"You fainted. Do you have any recollection why you... fainted?" Silas said his softened tone comforted Ivy, who frowned before remembering her embarrassing moments.
Her pale face slowly turned crimson, and she looked so alluring that for a moment, Silas wanted to lean and taste Ivy’s jelly-like lips.
