Chapter 266: Who would arrive earlier than her?
Qin Youxuan did not expect him to suddenly speak, and she stood stunned for a moment.
Then she nodded, pointing to her small finger, “I was just missing my mom…”
“Think of her as much as you want today, because the only person you’ll be able to think of from now on is me.”
“Wishful thinking, who wants to think of you!” Qin Youxuan pointed a finger at him as if he were a ghost, as she quickly turned around to get out of his embrace, retreating to the side of the car door.
“Three seconds, if you don’t want to jump out of the car, come over here.” Dan Hanjie glared at her coldly.
At his words, Qin Youxuan immediately stiffened, glanced at her position, and quickly moved closer to him.
Allowing him to hold her, she promptly leaned on his chest and fell asleep.
“Mr. Jie, we have arrived.”
Yao fixed his gaze on the cemetery in front of him without looking back, not daring to glance at the amorous picture on the back seat.
“You go ahead and prepare things, do not wake her up.” Dan Hanjie glanced at Qin Youxuan who was still sound asleep in his arms, his lips slightly parted.
He gently smoothed her furrowed brow with a long finger, his lips pursed in displeasure.
What was she thinking about, even in her sleep she furrowed her brow?
After an unknown amount of time, Qin Youxuan began to stir restlessly in his chest, her little mouth smacking as if she was about to wake up.
Dan Hanjie opened the car door and carried her directly out of the car.
Striding towards the cemetery.
When Qin Youxuan woke up, she found herself standing in front of Jiang Yu’s tombstone. Blinking her sleepy eyes, she couldn’t react all of a sudden.
“Why didn’t you wake me when we arrived?” Qin Youxuan muttered softly.
“You were asleep like a piglet, I was afraid I couldn’t wake you.” Dan Hanjie teased.
She decided not to stoop to his level.
Qin Youxuan looked around the quiet cemetery, and caught sight of a basket of flowers placed in front of the gravestone. Her eyes lingered.
Someone had been here earlier.
Who could have arrived before her?
Qin Youxuan tiptoed, constantly looking around.
After looking for a while, she did not see a single figure.
“Stop looking, I’ve already had the area sealed off. There’s no one in sight. If it’s not someone so skilled they could evade me, they must have left before we arrived.” Dan Hanjie spoke indifferently.
He glanced at Qin Youxuan’s bewildered face, playfully pinching her cheek.
She appeared especially gullible today, her reactions notably delayed.
“You still haven’t lit the incense for your mom.” Hanjie took her by the hand, moved forward to the spot right in front of Jiang Yu’s tombstone.
He crouched down, took out a handkerchief from his pocket, and gently wiped the inscription on the tombstone, which was already clean.
Seeing his action, Qin Youxuan felt a jolt in her heart.
It took her several seconds to recover, then she reached out to take the handkerchief from him, “Let me do it.”
“Hmm.” Dan Hanjie simply handed her the handkerchief and stepped back, allowing her to move forward.
The two interacted naturally with an indescribable harmony permeating their every gesture.
A thought crossed Qin Youxuan’s mind, compelling her to sneak a few more glances at him.
Dan Hanjie’s expression was calm, and his every move carried an air of nonchalance without appearing frivolous.
His enchanting face was even more captivating under the morning light.
“Is it really appropriate to stare at me like that in front of your mom?” Noticing her gaze, Dan Hanjie smirked mischievously. His voice wasn’t particularly loud or quiet.
“…Who’s staring at you.” Qin Youxuan’s face flushed red and she quickly turned her head away, meticulously wiping the gravestone.
Then she arranged the fresh flowers.
Staring at the tranquil woman in the picture, she remained silent for a long while.
“You look a lot like her.” Dan Hanjie suddenly spoke.
