Wei Shang played with his communication jade as he pondered. It was a tool used to communicate with other people with the help of Eon Energy. Right now, he was pondering about something.
"Wei Shang."
The cold and deep voice jolted him awake from his thought. He put the communication jade closer. "Your Majesty, you've finally replied."
"What is the matter?"
"It's about Ye Ai Xia...."
The moment he uttered the name, Wei Shang could feel that the temperature coming from the other side of the line has dropped several degrees. This name was rather taboo for them because of several reasons.
"Didn't I tell you to kill her if she makes trouble?"
"She didn't create any trouble," Wei Shang replied. "I just need your permission to tell her about Ye Xiao's death."
"You're still trying to get her?"
"Yes," Wei Shang admitted.
The person on the other side of the line stayed silent for a moment. "Fine, but if you fail and that woman turns crazy, I'll come there personally to kill her. This time, I'll not accept any foolish suggestion from you again."
"This shall be the last time," Wei Shang promised.
"Before that, give me a reason why you turn impatient."
Wei Shang didn't immediately answer. When he saw the woman back in the competition a few days before, he was enraptured once again. The beauty that Ye Ai Xia possessed didn't diminish in the slightest. Even though the trace of warmth that used to fill her entire being has disappeared and replaced with coldness, he couldn't forget that sight at all.

As Wei Shang cut off the communication, he tapped his table. This shall be his last resort. He turned his head to the servant. "Call Su Lian here."

Ye Jiao spent the time in the backyard as she leisurely laid down on the grass while enjoying nature. It was so comfortable that she didn't want to move from her place at all. Their place was rather far from the outside world, so she was not bothered by anyone in the slightest.
"Jiao'er, just stay here if you want. Mom needs to go out for a moment," Ye Ai Xia informed.
"Is there a guest, Mom?"
"Yes, but you shouldn't concern yourself, ok?"
Ye Jiao furrowed her brows. From the tone her mother used, she could guess that the guest didn't come with friendly intention. Well, there were rarely anyone who would show them any kind gesture in this city, so it was common.
Still, she was worried about her mother.
"I'll stay behind, Mom," Ye Jiao replied. She didn't really like dealing with the guests too. Many of them would only come to inflict wounds on her, which she disliked very much.
Ye Ai Xia smiled. "Good girl. Mom will return soon."
After making sure that Ye Jiao was still in the backyard, Ye Ai Xia made her way to the front. Her gentle expression was replaced with her cold attitude as she stood silently near the gate.
Not long after that, two women came to her sight. They were dressed lavishly, showing off their high status in the residence.
"What can this lowly one can do to help the high and noble Su Lian?" Ye Ai Xia asked in a mocking tone.
Su Lian smiled. "I come with my sister. Don't you need to greet her too?"
Hearing the word 'sister,' Ye Ai Xia really wanted to scoff. Su Lian and Su Daji's relationship has never been good because each one of them wished for the other party's fall. Su Lian came from a high ranking family, but she didn't have good martial talent. On the other hand, Su Daji came from the lower position in Su Family with good martial talent and face.
They wished to have what other party had but they didn't. The only reason they came in terms today was because they wanted to create trouble on her doorstep.
"Congratulations on getting first place, Su Daji," Ye Ai Xia said sarcastically.

"Are you thinking of using that pill, Ye Ai Xia?" Su Lian asked.
Ye Ai Xia shrugged, not intending to answer. Even an idiot knew that she doesn't need it because it was only useful for someone who had only reached the third rank and hadn't stabilized themselves yet.
"Maybe she's thinking of giving the pill to Ye Jiao," Su Daji smiled sweetly. "Perhaps, a pill can change someone's talent."

Ye Ai Xia watched the two of them laughed with indifferent expression. She was not polite at all as she crossed her arm. "Have you finished?"
"No, not yet."

"What news?" Ye Ai Xia arched her eyebrows. It was only a few days ago that the competition ended, but there was already another thing happening the city. It sure was lively lately.
Su Lian nodded her head, her smile showed that she was genuinely happy. "Ye Xiao has died."
