"What’s wrong with me?" Chloe Grant retorted without a second thought. She took a step back and raised her voice, "What was wrong with me hitting her? Didn’t she deserve it? Do you even know what she did to me? You only saw me hit her and then you came to blame me, to lecture me! From childhood to adulthood, besides lecturing me, what else can you do?
Matthew Morgan, you’re not even my dad, and he’s not dead! You’re just my uncle in name, so what right do you have to control me!"
Chloe Grant shouted one sentence after another, as if venting years of pent-up anger.
Even when faced with Matthew Morgan’s surprised and then dangerous squint, she continued unabashedly, "From childhood to adulthood, you just control me, control me, control me! I don’t want to take the college entrance exam, yet you force me to study. I want to play video games, but you don’t let me. I want to eat spicy food, lots and lots of spicy food, but you won’t let me. I want to have a late-night snack because I’m hungry, but you still won’t let me! Saying this, Chloe Grant began to cry, thinking of all those years under Matthew Morgan’s control, she felt so wronged.
She impatiently wiped her face with the back of her hand.
"What right do you have to control me! I don’t even have my own freedom. Every time I see you, I’m scared like I’ve seen a ghost, and I can’t even express my own thoughts."
Matthew Morgan did not respond, just looked on coldly.
It was the first time he knew that Chloe Grant felt so dissatisfied with him internally.
"I’m your uncle in name." He told her calmly.
Controlling her, he thought it was just to be good to her.
With that one sentence from Matthew Morgan, Chloe Grant exploded, "Lucas Morgan is also my uncle in name, why doesn’t he control me!"
Matthew Morgan’s face instantly darkened.
Chloe Grant shrank back in fear, but then again... she was angry with herself for being such a coward!
Why was she always such a coward!
Just because he’s fierce, does that make him special!
Just because he has a strong presence, does that make him special!
"I’m not like him!" Matthew Morgan’s voice was heavily subdued, suppressing the anger inside him.
"Exactly! He’s so much better than you!" Chloe Grant retorted without thinking.
This was her truest thought.
When she didn’t want to take the college entrance exam, Lucas Morgan would tell her, if you don’t want to, then don’t, you’ve got me and the Morgan family behind you, what are you afraid of.
If she wanted to eat chili, Lucas Morgan would take her.
If she wanted to have barbecue and beer at night, Lucas Morgan would take her.

"You don’t even know that the three years you were gone, I was so happy! I prayed every day that you would never come back, only then would I... ah...!"
Before Chloe Grant could finish shouting, Matthew Morgan suddenly grabbed her shoulders and pushed her body backwards, finally pinning her against the wall beside them.
Chloe Grant’s eyes widened in shock!
"Do you really wish I would never come back? Do you really wish for Lucas Morgan to accompany you forever? Do you really..." not want to see me!
For three years, I fought so hard with death just to come back to see you sooner!

Matthew Morgan’s eyes suddenly turned red.
In Chloe Grant’s eyes, they seemed bloodthirsty, incredibly terrifying!
He suddenly pinched her chin, leaned down, and covered her lips!
Chloe Grant’s eyes widened in shock, filled with terror! Shock! Disbelief!
The wet and cold sensation on her lips served as a constant reminder to Chloe Grant.
Lu, Lu, Lu, Lu, Lucas... Uncle Morgan actually kissed her!
