Listening to her father’s words, Chloe Grant felt not only wronged and angry but also utterly heartbroken.
"Why should I apologize?" Ultimately, she couldn’t hold back and vented her dissatisfaction, "I’m not the one at fault! You only listen to Lily Grant’s complaints, but do you know what happened to me?
You are my biological father, and even if you believe you should have your strict style and maintain a neutral stance, and even if your own daughter is wrong, you would never condone her. Feeling so wronged, Chloe Grant spoke while crying by the end, "Do you know you haven’t called me for many days? And do you know how much I was looking forward to this call? And Mom, she hasn’t talked to me in months, barely replies to my messages; do you two consider me a burden or something? Do you feel I’ve made things difficult for you and made you unhappy, making you think I’m even more of a burden now?"
On the other end of the line, Mr. Grant was overwhelmed by Chloe’s words, feeling uncomfortable and at a loss for how to respond.
Chloe Grant wasn’t born in the country; she was born abroad but was sent back shortly after, raised by her grandparents here. Later, her parents thought about bringing her abroad, but she was too resistant, and language learning was too difficult, so she was sent back again.
Over the years, her parents actually visited very few times, mostly only during the New Year or Mid-Autumn Festival when they brought Chloe to stay abroad for a couple of days.
But during those two days, they were basically busy with work and barely took care of Chloe.
"I understand." In the end, Mr. Grant sighed helplessly. After a few seconds, he added, "No matter what, pay Lily back the ten thousand dollars, don’t let her struggle."
Chloe’s emotions, which had initially calmed down, surged with grievance and anger again upon hearing Mr. Grant’s words.
After saying so much, he still didn’t ask her about the whole situation, ultimately believing that Lily’s version of the story was the most accurate.
He always felt that the blame lay with Chloe Grant.
He sighed, merely compromising with his daughter rather than inquiring about the so-called truth.
"I won’t talk to you anymore; I’m hanging up." Chloe Grant could no longer hold on; she directly hung up the phone.

Voluntarily hanging up on her parents.
In the past, she was always reluctant, during calls and video chats, even with nothing to say, forcing awkward conversations despite her parents trying several times to say they were busy and hang up the call, but Chloe just wouldn’t end it.
Because she couldn’t bear to.
Chloe Grant sat on the sofa, vigorously wiping her tears.
To put it frankly, although from the age of ten, she was cared for and spoiled by the Morgans, what a child ultimately longs for most is the love and care of their own parents.
The more Chloe thought about it, the more wronged she felt, her mouth quivering as she burst into loud sobs.
