A tall, thin woman tugged at Mengyu’s arm, looking very distressed: "How can you say we’re forcing you? We’re pleading with you!"
As she spoke, she simply knelt down: "Please, just let Ma Dapan have the house. I don’t want my son to be threatened."
Mengyu looked at her neighbors. Under her gaze, the surrounding neighbors initially lowered their heads, but soon lifted them again.
Their thoughts were unanimous—they wanted Mengyu to give the house to Ma Dapan. Thus, they crowded around Mengyu and began to persuade her:

"Let Ma Dapan have the house. You can’t ignore the welfare of all of us!"
"Once you let the house go, you can find another place to buy."
Watching these neighbors, Mengyu recalled what Ma Dapan shouted when he left: "You all, just wait for me!"
Now she understood, that shout was directed toward these neighbors.
Thinking about how Old man Chen hurried to get away, she finally understood, it wasn’t just Ma Dapan bullying him, but also these accomplice neighbors! Rage surged within Mengyu.
These neighbors pressured her to sell the house she bought for thirty thousand yuan for twelve thousand yuan to Ma Dapan, or else she was selfish and disregarding their lives?
