Zang Pengfei sprinted towards the outskirts of Chaihe Town.
Recalling every detail of his interactions with Wen Yu, Zang Pengfei became convinced that Wen Yu wasn’t suicidal. Moreover, looking back, it was extremely odd that Wen Yu’s large dog had leaped directly into the fiery pit when confronting the Corpse King. The more he pondered, the more uneasy he felt, prompting him to accelerate again.
As he covered more ground, scattered zombies started appearing along his path.

"Stop! Everyone stop! Don’t move forward!" Sun Aotian shouted to the hundreds of people in the group.

"Xiao Wen, lead the group forward, but don’t leave Chaihe Town," Sun Aotian instructed Zang Pengfei’s key subordinate.

"Perhaps—and I’m just saying perhaps—that man, Wen Yu, has already dealt with the Zombie King! If that’s the case, we can return to Chaihe Town and won’t need to flee," Sun Aotian stated his conjecture directly.
Seeing Xiao Wen nod, Sun Aotian immediately turned and sprinted back along the route Zang Pengfei had taken.
Wen Yu sat in a relatively clean, open area, quietly wiping the steel saber in his hands.
The E-Class steel saber was not only caked in thick gore, but its edge was also slightly nicked. The condition of the steel saber alone spoke volumes about the sheer number of zombies that had fallen to it.
Beside Wen Yu lay a heap of zombie remains.
A fish-belly white was appearing on the horizon; the satisfying harvest operation had lasted the entire night!
"Old Sun, let’s go. Time to change locations."
Wen Yu had already swept this area clean and could no longer find anything that would yield points.
"I think I’ll sit this one out. I’m too tired. I want to find Zang Pengfei and the others," Sun Ruixing said with some hesitation.
To Wen Yu, these zombies were walking points, but for Sun Ruixing, they were far less accommodating!
"Alright. Once I’m done with these zombies, I’ll come find you."
After coming to an agreement with Sun Ruixing, Wen Yu immediately pursued the tracks of the migrating zombies.
Meanwhile, Zang Pengfei, after a night of fierce fighting, had rejoined the survivors.
When Zang Pengfei announced that Chaihe Town was once again under human control, a wave of hope for survival washed over everyone.
Professionists were organized to clear out the remaining zombies, while ordinary people were tasked with rebuilding their homes.
Everything was heading in a positive direction!
By the time Wen Yu and Cyclops returned to Chaihe Town, it was already the morning of the fourth day.
Cyclops’ injuries had completely healed by the second day after the battle. Thanks to Cyclops’ keen sense of smell, Wen Yu had significantly increased his efficiency in finding zombies. Along the way, they also killed a few foolish mutant beasts that had strayed from the mountains.
The Corpse King’s brain matter and its mutated right arm had a profound effect on Cyclops’ evolution.
Cyclops’ body had bulked up by a whole size; he now stood 2.5 meters tall, and his physical attributes had soared to 25 points.
It proved that danger indeed meant opportunity. This was the harvest from the great battle.
As for Wen Yu himself, after three days of continuous, sleepless slaughter, he had raised his physical attributes to 40 points. When he entered a combat state, this increased to 50 points.
"Let’s go, find Zang Pengfei and the others."

Cyclops stared at Wen Yu with wide eyes, reluctant to let the remaining zombies go. The stronger Boss gets, the stronger the prey we’ll hunt in the future will be. And right now, the bodies of all this prey are mine! So, I definitely can’t miss any chance for myself or Boss to get stronger.
Stroking Cyclops’ belly, Wen Yu said with a smile, "There aren’t many large groups of zombies left. Killing scattered ones yields too little. Besides, I’m exhausted. After a short rest, we’ll head into the great mountains to hunt mutant beasts!"
Upon hearing Wen Yu mention going into the mountains, Cyclops shivered with excitement.

Lowering his massive canine head, Cyclops focused on discerning the scent of Zang Pengfei and the others.
A moment later, Cyclops bolted forward, with Wen Yu following closely behind.
As Cyclops and Wen Yu quickly advanced, a slightly different Chaihe Town slowly appeared before Wen Yu’s eyes.
The streets were no longer teeming with clustered zombies. On the main road into Chaihe Town, the wrecked vehicles had been moved to the side by the survivors.
The survivors had cleaned the ground. Apart from some indelible bloodstains, the corpses had been dragged to the roadside for mass incineration.
The power of hope is immense. Chaihe Town wasn’t particularly large or small, but the fact that these few hundred people had managed to clear the town entrance spoke volumes about their yearning for a future.
On the roadside, large wooden signs read: "All humans welcome to join the Chaihe Town settlement."
A large arrow pointed towards the town center.
Wen Yu couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight.
