Assassin at Range: The Sniper’s Lethal Power Chapter 69

For ShieldBreaker, selling the Guild Token early was out of the question.

At first, he had no idea how valuable this item was.

After all, in most games, creating a guild wasn't a big deal.

But then—

Shadow Legion offered $10 million for it.

He damn near dropped his controller.

That was life-changing money—enough to completely flip his family's situation around.

Just as he was about to accept, IFA's people arrived—

And immediately raised the bid to $12 million.

He still remembered the look on the Shadow Legion players' faces—they turned so green they looked like orc cosplayers before gritting their teeth and upping the bid to $15 million.

At that moment, ShieldBreaker finally realized—

This thing was worth way more than he thought.

If two guilds were already bidding so aggressively, and their leaders weren't even involved yet, then…

What happens when the real money shows up?

And sure enough—

More guilds reached out, each offering to buy the Guild Token at even higher prices.

By the time the bidding hit $30 million, ShieldBreaker nearly caved.

He even consulted a few close friends, trying to decide if he should sell now or wait.

The consensus?

Wait.

At least until the top players hit Level 10 and reached the main cities.

Once all the major guilds were in the same place, he'd see the true market value of the Guild Token.

So with that in mind, ShieldBreaker focused on grinding—trying to rush to Level 10 as fast as possible.

Then—

A server-wide announcement dropped.

And Blackshade's message caught his eye immediately.

Gold Grade gear for sale.

A shop opening in Davi City.

An auction venue.

It was perfect.

If he wanted to sell the Guild Token for the highest possible price, an auction was the best option.

But there had been a few concerns—

Did the main city even have an auction house?

If so, would he be allowed inside?

Even if he got in, could he trust it?

Would he get ninja-looted IRL?

Would he even make it out alive after selling it?

But now?

No need to worry.

Just let Blackshade handle it.

Without hesitation, he sent a friend request.

After chatting for a bit, ShieldBreaker felt completely reassured.

He was about to get rich.

Really, really rich.

"This thing could go for $50 million."

The thought alone gave him chills.

That was more money than he'd know what to do with.

He could buy every cosmetic skin in the game and still have cash left over.

And as for Blackshade's condition?

Not selling early?

Not a problem at all.

Unless another Guild Token dropped, he'd have to be brain-dead to sell it ahead of time.

So he agreed immediately.

"Don't worry. I won't do anything stupid."

But after a moment, he had one concern.

He hesitated, then sent another message—

"Just to be clear—if someone else finds a Guild Token and sells it early, I'm not going to sit around and wait."

Tristan replied—

"Of course."

That wasn't an issue.

Guild Tokens had an absurdly low drop rate.

Excluding the one he personally held, the first Guild Token in his past life had appeared a few hours later than this one.

And the second Guild Token?

Three days after launch.

By then, the top players had already reached the main cities, and there were more bosses to farm.

That's how the second one finally dropped.

In other words—

Guild Tokens were insanely rare.

So ShieldBreaker's concern was meaningless.

With everything settled, Tristan closed the chat and turned to Horreo.

"Thanks for the help."

Horreo waved it off. "Think nothing of it."

Then he asked—

"When's your shop officially opening? I need to make preparations."

Tristan thought for a moment. "The morning after tomorrow."

By then, the top players would have reached Level 10, and many would start heading to the main cities.

Horreo nodded. "Good. I'll be there."

He had a strong feeling that the goblin situation was far from over.

And if that was the case, this outsider might be crucial.

Plus—

He had passed Edith's test.

That alone made him worth watching.

Tristan wasn't about to refuse the offer.

With Horreo's backing, even the most troublesome lowlifes would have to think twice before causing problems.

Even the nobles wouldn't dare act recklessly.

Hunting Goblins for Profit

With the shop registered and the announcement made, there was only one thing left to do.

Leveling.

And if possible, find a few good bosses to upgrade his gear and stock up his shop.

There was still a lot to do.

After leaving Horreo, Tristan headed out the eastern gate of Davi City.

Honestly, anywhere outside the city was fine for leveling.

But the east had goblins.

And if he could find some clues, it might help trigger a quest.

Two birds, one stone.

After walking for a while, Tristan realized something—

Walking is slow as hell.

He needed a mount.

"Beast-type bosses have a small chance of dropping mounts. If I find one, I'll take it."

With Rain of Corruption, soloing bosses was laughably easy.

But there was one issue.

His ranged options were still too limited.

Now that he had Blink, his mobility had improved, but he still needed more offensive spells.

"Time to hunt more bosses for skill books."

"Also, I should check out the black market again—boost Edith's favorability. I'll need her for class-exclusive skills."

"And there are tons of quests at the tavern, too."

While deep in thought, a small group of goblins spotted him and charged.

Rain of Corruption!

They died instantly.

That confirmed it—

There was definitely a massive goblin settlement somewhere in the eastern wilderness.

If he could find it, then…

One Toxic Blood Plague and boom—insane XP.

With that in mind, Tristan dropped stealth entirely.

He wanted to be seen.

And sure enough—

More goblins popped up, shrieking as they rushed toward him.

Shadow Dagger!

Thud, thud!

The moment Toxic Blood Plague activated, the new goblins dropped dead.

And in the distance—

More rustling in the underbrush.

More goblins.

With red eyes and primal fury, they poured in from all directions.

Tristan smirked.

"Damn, goblins really do breed like crazy."

He raised his dagger—

And went to work.

There was a saying among players in his past life—

"No goblin, no gain."
