With his bottom dry and clean, Xibao was rolling back and forth on the bed.
"Mommy, Mommy!" He called out, laughing and exploring, waving his arms around. Suddenly, he found himself on top of Feng Qingxue who was stretching lazily in bed. "Milk, milk! Mommy, milk!" he cried out.
"Mommy doesn’t drink milk!" Feng Qingxue responded, "However, who are you anyway? I don’t recognize you."
Xibao sat upright, pointing at his own nose, "Baby!"
"So who drinks the milk then?"
"Baby! Baby!" Xibao responded joyfully, his chubby cheeks so lovable.
Feng Qingxue couldn’t resist, giving him several kisses before getting up to prepare his milk. The little guy was sprawled on his knees, plump bottom up in the air, pacifier in his mouth, and the bottom of the milk bottle rested against the bed’s surface. Despite looking lazier than ever, he randomly grabbed at the air with his hands. Understanding what he wanted, Feng Qingxue passed him the bottle, so he sat there, holding his bottle, drinking his milk, chaotic yet orderly.
Seeing this, Lu Jiang, who had just finished hanging the washed diapers, was impressed.
The couple took the opportunity to brush their teeth and wash their faces. Feng Qingxue applied her skincare products, washed her hands, and moved the heated bed’s table to the center. From her space, she took out a hamper of steamed dumplings filled with three delicacies and two bowls of mixed grain soy milk, inviting Lu Jiang to eat.
She had stored many hampers of steamed dumplings in her space, and placed a couple in her usual small steamer for everyday use.
Xibao was still lying on his belly, unable to see her magically obtaining things out of the blue.
Lu Jiang, although accustomed to it, was still amazed, "In this vast world, indeed nothing is too bizarre. Even a fairy might not have such abilities. Anyway, the dumplings are really delicious."
"Eat more if you like." Feng Qingxue smiled, "Tomorrow, we are having pork dumplings."
The cooked food in her space were limited, they needed to be creative in their meals to keep it interesting and to last longer. Besides, she loved eating dumplings and if she ate them every day, they would be gone within a year or two.
She loved the steamed dumplings from this specific outlet the most. There was always a massive crowd at the several branches daily. To stock up, she would buy a lot every day, attracting almost lethal glares from the other customers. Fortunately, she informed the shop beforehand, paid two-thirds deposit upfront, and asked them to make extras in big steamers for her. After which, she would bring them back for her workers.
Giving it to her workers was her excuse then. During the twenty-first century, neighbors weren’t that nosy, hence no one doubted her.
Lu Jiang had a hearty meal until he started burping.
Feng Qingxue chided him, "Eat until you’re full, why stuff yourself? It’s not like we don’t have enough food at home."
"I’m used to gobbling down food. By the time I feel full, I’m stuffed." Lu Jiang explained, receiving an eye roll from his wife. He laughed, walked around the room to aid digestion. When he no longer felt bloated, he returned to the bed.
By then, Xibao had finished his milk. He shook the bottle, inspected it, and passed it to Lu Jiang.
"All gone!" he declared, shaking his head as he spoke.
Returning from washing the bottle, Lu Jiang saw the little guy sitting wide-legged on the bed, his little birdie in full view, showing no embarrassment at all. His cute little feet pressed together, toes curling and uncurling in a rhythm, making him giggle uncontrollably.
Every move of the little fellow was extremely cute, though he could sometimes be a bit annoying.
As Lu Jiang had this thought, he lay down, conveniently using Feng Qingxue’s pillow, leading to an outcry. Little Fatty crawled over nimbly, pushing his head with force, insisting, "Mommy’s, mommy’s pillow!"
