Back To The 90s: The Resilient Daughter-In-Law Chapter 392

Chapter 394: Chapter 394 Speak Up_1 Chapter 394: Chapter 394 Speak Up_1 “Should I get you a new one?”

“No need, I find the characters you wrote with this pen beautiful. This one will be fine.”

“Well…all right, then!” Nan Fei stared at Gongxi Yun Qi, before finally handing over the fountain pen.

“Thank you!” Gongxi Yun Qi revealed a smile that instantly brightened the whole classroom.

“You’re welcome!” For some reason, while looking at Gongxi Yun Qi’s smile, Nan Fei’s mind was filled with images of Huo Beijiang’s laughter. Wild, insufferable, wicked…

Her mind was full of him.

She massaged her forehead, feeling a splitting headache. She wondered if she was falling seriously ill. What’s more, she didn’t know where Huo Beijiang was now, and if she should write him a letter.

The class had already begun, but Physics Teacher Sun hadn’t shown up. It wasn’t until the supervisor checked in that they discovered this. Rushing back to the office, they found Teacher Sun and Jiang Yang engrossed in a game of chess.

With his hair almost all pulled out, he mumbled, “It wasn’t , it was different just a moment ago! How many moves did you anticipate? How many moves?”

Jiang Yang rested his chin in his hand, sitting obediently on the chair. At Teacher Sun’s question, he had a blank, confused look in his eyes.

“Ah!” Teacher Sun sighed, “Why don’t you say anything, why won’t you say anything? I beg you, speak up! Tell me, how far ahead can you see each time you make a move?”

Jiang Yang sat calmly, ignoring Teacher Sun completely.

“I’ve decided, if you’ll speak up and tell me how far you see, I’ll call you teacher, okay?”

A flicker of disdain ran through Jiang Yang’s eyes.

Jiang Yang decided not to play chess with him anymore, as he was too chatty.

“Teacher Sun, what are you doing?” As soon as homeroom Teacher Liu walked in and saw what was going on, he exclaimed in disbelief, “This period is your physics class with our students. Why aren’t you there? The class will be over in ten minutes.”

Teacher Sun slapped his forehead, only then realizing that he had lost track of time.

“My apologies! Look at me, I was so absorbed in playing chess that I forgot such an important thing. It’s completely my fault,” he said, trying to get up in a hurry.

Teacher Liu, afraid that he might fall due to his age, quickly went to assist him.

“Please take your time.” Teacher Sun was meticulous, earnest, and dedicated. Despite being a teacher for decades, he had never taken leave even when he was ill, this was an unprecedented first.

He was now very curious as to what had transpired for him to forget about his class.

“What happened, were you playing a high stakes game of gold or silver chess to be so engrossed?”

Other teachers who didn’t have a class at the time gathered around.

“Ah! I kept losing, kept losing,” Teacher Sun laughed, “I’m a chess nut. I’ve been playing chess for so many years, and although I’ve lost before, never like today, I’ve lost every single game.”

“That’s impossible, right?”

“Teacher Sun, you didn’t win a single game?”

At this point, the other teachers looked at the exceptionally handsome boy with different eyes.

They had initially thought the headmaster had arranged this out of pity.

But now it seemed, that wasn’t the case at all!

Teacher Liu thought about how Jiang Nanfei had said her brother was good at chess, initially assuming it was self-praise. Now it seemed, it was not only not self-praise — she had, in fact, been modest.

Teacher Sun said sheepishly: “Not only did I not win a single time, but also I was thoroughly crushed every time. It was as if every step of mine was already known to him in advance. Anyway, unless you play him, you won’t understand this feeling.”
