Back To The 90s: The Resilient Daughter-In-Law Chapter 393

Chapter 395: Chapter 395 All is Lost_1 Chapter 395: Chapter 395 All is Lost_1 There’s a saying, ‘think three steps ahead for every move you make.’ If you can do this, you’re already quite skilled. If you can think seven steps ahead, you’re definitely top-tier.

After having played chess for several decades, he could barely manage to think five steps ahead. But Jiang Yang had completely overshadowed him, probably already thinking more than seven steps ahead.

A gasp echoed around the office. Teacher Lu, who taught senior year Algebra, did not believe his eyes and took up the seat Teacher Sun had just vacated.

Teacher Lu was best at math and possessed a remarkable ability to calculate in his head. Although he usually did not show much interest in chess, he couldn’t resist giving it a try!

“How about a game with me, little fella?” he suggested.

Jiang Yang remained quiet throughout, his small body surrounded by the teachers, showing no reaction. He lifted his hand from his chin and began resetting the chessboard.

As the new round began, Jiang Yang sat emotionless, occasionally moving a chess piece, and spent the rest of the time seemingly daydreaming.

The teachers around him were stupefied.

Someone quietly asked, “Does he even need to think at all?”

Teacher Sun forced a smile, “Indeed! He hardly even pays attention to the chessboard.”

“Is every move he makes correct?”

“Are you sure he’s not just bluffing?”

“Look at the sweat on Teacher Lu’s forehead.” Teacher Sun suddenly felt his loss wasn’t that hard to accept. Teacher Lu wasn’t able to keep up either, so he wasn’t the only one embarrassed!

Indeed, despite being silent, and focusing intensely on the game, beads of sweat were slowly trickling down Teacher Lu’s forehead.

It was deep autumn and the office was not only not hot but rather cool!

When it was Jiang Yang’s turn to move a piece, he didn’t move, but abruptly stood up instead.

Everyone anxiously rushed him, “It’s your turn! Make a move.”

Not saying a word, Jiang Yang paused. Teacher Lu wiped the sweat from his forehead and muttered incredulously, “I lost, I’ve already lost!” He could read his impending defeat. He knew there was no way he could win no matter how the boy played.

Jiang Yang looked towards the door, his vacant eyes briefly lighting up with surprise, before returning to their usual calm.

Turns out school was over, and Nan Fei, worried about her little brother, had come to check on him.

Seeing it was Jiang Nan Fei coming over, all waved eagerly for her to come in. Unable to restrain himself, Teacher Sun was the first to question, “Jiang Nan Fei, how far ahead can your little brother see turns when he’s playing chess?”

This question was really bothering him, he found it hard to eat without finding out.

Nan Fei silently gave Jiang Yang a thumbs-up before answering, “I’ve heard the principal say, it seems like from his very first move, he’s already thinking about the final move.”

“Even a genius couldn’t do that!”

“Is this even possible?”

Overwhelmed, everyone started gasping in amazement, making Nan Fei very proud. She knew her little brother was amazing, that even if he doesn’t talk, he could win over the teachers’ affection.

“This, this, this…” Teacher Sun stammered, wanting to grab Jiang Yang’s hand but afraid of scaring him. Instead, he reached for Nan Fei’s hand.

“Nan Fei, what are your parents plans for him? I believe your little brother is definitely not a fool, absolutely not,” he remarked earnestly.

“Isn’t that obvious?” Teacher Lu retorted impatiently, “Have you ever seen a fool ? If he’s a fool, what does that make us? Fools among fools, inferior to a fool?”

After berating Teacher Sun, Teacher Lu’s face softened, and he said warmly, “Jiang Nan Fei, I believe your little brother has great potential. Have you ever considered nurturing his talent? I have some free time and could teach him. I won’t charge any fees, and my wife makes scrumptious food.”
