Faye Townsend drifted into a hazy sleep, feeling the world spinning around her.
She had many dreams, about the past and about the present.
About Miya, about Darnley, about... Hunter Warren.
Strangely, she clearly knew she was dreaming and wanted to wake up, but she just couldn’t open her eyes.
In the dream, Hunter Warren stood right in front of her, pointing at her, saying, "I don’t want a woman who’s not clean, we’re completely over, Faye, go away, don’t appear in front of me anymore."
She wanted to leave, but suddenly Hunter Warren grabbed her and wouldn’t let go: "I tell you to leave and you just leave, are you an idiot? Why didn’t you try to keep me?"
She was bewildered, not knowing what to do.
She wanted to wake up so much, she didn’t want to be entangled with him even in her dreams.
Why couldn’t even dreams be beautiful?
Yet, she just couldn’t wake up.
The scene shifted, and she saw an aged Sebastian Sheldon, who seemed to float like a ghost, rushing towards her, tightly gripping her neck: "Faye, you ruined my life, ruined my happiness, ruined my love.
You pushed me into the pit of fire, I can’t share the same sky with you, I want to kill you, kill you."
"No... no..." Faye struggled desperately as she suddenly sat up with a start, waking up.
She breathed rapidly, her heart raced, then a pair of hands gently held hers, and Faye turned her head to see Oliver Turner sitting by her bedside.
"Had a nightmare?" Oliver Turner’s warm tone brought a slight relief to her heart, it wasn’t a dream, she was awake.
Faye exhaled and looked at him with a forced smile: "Oliver, when did you come?"
Oliver glanced at his wristwatch, checking the time: "It’s been six hours."
Faye glanced at the wall clock, it was three in the afternoon: "Is it already that late? How did I sleep for so long?"
"When I went to the hospital, Kay Forrest said you just came home to rest. I stayed with Miya for a while at the hospital and then came back. The nanny said you had just fallen asleep, so until now, it’s only been seven or eight hours, not that long."
"That’s already long enough for me," Faye patted her forehead and lifted the blanket to get out of bed.
Oliver held her wrist: "Kay said you’ve been under immense stress these days and must be exhausted.
Now that Miya’s surgery was successful, you have relaxed and will probably feel very sleepy. He asked me to tell you not to go to the hospital tonight, he’ll take good care of Miya."
"I’m worried Miya will look for me. She just had surgery and must really need me." Faye didn’t listen and got out of bed.
But as soon as she stood up with her feet on the ground, she felt a bit dizzy.
Oliver quickly supported her: "How are you, alright?"
"Maybe I slept too much."
"Alright, don’t be stubborn, Kay is taking care of Miya, you should honestly lie back here.
Miya is so sensible, she surely doesn’t want you to exhaust yourself for her," Oliver said, pressing her to sit back on the bed.
"There’s no ’but’, you need to rest well, I’ll have the nanny make you something to eat." Oliver interrupted her and turned to leave.
Faye’s head was indeed a bit dizzy, even if she went to the hospital now, she wouldn’t take good care of Miya. Rather than bringing negative energy to Miya while feeling unwell, it was better to recharge and go later.
After Oliver went downstairs, Faye lay back on the bed and closed her eyes to rest.
Once the nanny prepared the meal, Oliver came up to call her down to eat.
At the dining table, he didn’t touch the food and just watched her eat.
Seeing him not eating, she looked up at him and asked, "Why aren’t you eating?"
"I just had lunch, so I’m not hungry yet. You eat well, and rest after you finish,"
Faye smiled: "Actually, I’m not that hungry either."
"Your ’not hungry’ and my ’not hungry’ are different. I have eaten, but you have too much on your mind.
You’re already so thin, if you don’t eat well, I’m afraid you won’t even be able to hold a child in the future."
Faye shook her head: "No, you don’t understand the incredible strength a mother has.
Ask me to carry a thirty-pound bag of rice, I definitely can’t lift it, but if it’s a thirty-pound child, I can easily hold them, even two at a time."
Hearing Faye say this, Oliver couldn’t help but laugh, recalling the times he saw her holding children in past years.
Faye picked up her knife and fork: "But you’re right, I should eat more, otherwise how would I have the energy to take care of Miya."
"Don’t put so much pressure on yourself, you still have me and Kay Forrest."
