Blood apostle Chapter 57

[Moonbase Helix – Kruger Induction Grounds]

Pablo no longer bore the name El'Vertigo.

Upon arrival at the Kruger Induction Grounds, it had been stripped from him, replaced by a designation: Initiate 7-Delta-Elk. No one called him Pablo. No one cared who he had been before.

The compound was brutal. Gone were the ceremonial duels of nobility, the scholarly lectures, and gemstone blades. Kruger indoctrination was blood, mud, and silence. On the first day, initiates were submerged in vats of blackwater, forced to hold their breath until unconsciousness. On the second, the survivors were electrocuted awake and forced into ill-fitted exosuits. By the fifth, most of them had broken something. Pablo had broken his own nose—and another soldier's jaw.

And yet, something in him hardened. Something found peace in the suffering.

Each night, as lights dimmed and silence returned, Pablo tapped into a sealed communication line. Kiro's encrypted signal was gone. But across hushed whispers and intercepted Kruger comms, rumors had begun to form.

A forbidden world.A man leading those cast aside. The Blood Apostle.

Some claimed it was myth.Pablo knew better.

[Kyros One – Northern Ridge, Redhaven Outskirts]

The Arion dropship descended like a blade of glass, sleek and precise. Dust and heat rippled outward as it landed. Kiro stood watching, his Bloodborn at his flanks, silent and alert. The desert wind tugged at his worn armor, but his gaze remained locked on the vessel.

From its hatch stepped a tall figure in immaculate white armor, helm shaped like a predator's beak. She carried herself like a queen among inferiors.

"Blood Apostle," she addressed, her voice calm and sharp. "I am High Enforcer Valenne of the Arion Republic Vanguard. This planet lies beyond sanctioned imperial control. You have twenty hours to surrender and accept annexation under Arion law."

Kiro didn't move. The red system glow beneath his skin pulsed faintly, unseen by most but known to all who followed him.

"This world is a refuge," he replied. "Not a territory."

Valenne smiled coldly. "Then it is vulnerable."

With that, she turned and boarded her ship.

"Twenty hours," she repeated as the hatch sealed.

[Camp Redhaven – Council Bunker]

Kiro's fists struck the metal table hard enough to dent it.

"They're not going to wait," he growled. "The Arion want a bloodless conquest. They'll strike before we've even dug in."

The gathered rebel leaders looked grim. These weren't trained generals. They were farmers, ex-slaves, and exiles who had followed Kiro to a world that promised freedom. Now that world was about to burn.

"They'll hit by hour two," said Mara, one of the few with tactical experience. "Standard Arion tactics. Pretend diplomacy, then precision decapitation."

Kiro nodded slowly. "Then we hold. Even if we're not ready."

He rose and activated the main speaker array from the command pillar.

"This is Kiro," his voice echoed through every corner of the camp. "I didn't bring you here to die. But I won't run either. This is our world, even if we built it from wreckage and bones. I'll be standing at the Ridge in one hour."

He paused.

"Stand with me. Or hide. But if we fall today—we fall as people who chose to be free."

[Hour Two – Ridgefront, Kyros One]

The sky shattered with fire.

Plasma bursts tore across the defensive line. Sand turned to glass. The Arion had come early.

Kiro stood at the frontline, eyes burning crimson with the system's power. He raised his sword—an ancient relic fused with Bloodsteel—and ignited the skill that pulsed through every fiber of his being.

Only six hundred defenders had made it to the Ridge. Makeshift armor, salvaged rifles, blood-wrought blades—but none of them turned away.

Kiro didn't wait. He charged first, roaring like a beast from the old worlds. The Bloodborn followed. So did the farmers. So did the orphans.

In the wake of that charge, the legend of the Blood Apostle deepened. He had brought a million souls to freedom—and now stood between them and annihilation with only 600 at his side.

The storm had begun.
