Blood apostle Chapter 96

DREAMWORLD: CORE COMBAT PLANE — "NULL SINGULARITY"

The sky above the dream broke like fragile glass, shards suspended mid-collapse. Time bled backward. Color had no meaning here. It was a realm forged not by gods, but by what preceded them.

Kiro stood alone at the center of an inverted world, where the horizon spun like a noose and the heartbeat of ancient war thundered with every breath.

Kiro’s hands flexed.

The Threnody Blade burned to life, edge shimmering with distilled sorrow. His body glowed in lines of shifting glyphs — reminders of trials survived and futures rejected.

But what approached now... was not a memory.

It was the first enemy.

I. THE COLOSSUS WITHOUT TIME

A shadow fell across the battlefield like the lowering of judgment.

A colossus of bone, armor, and rotted golden light strode into the plane — each step birthing earthquakes made of years. Its joints were rings of planetary corpses. Its face wore no eyes, only a crown of gnashing clocks.

"You challenge me, Time-Struck?" it said. Its voice was the echo of eternity cracking."I am older than cause. I precede consequence.""I am what the gods fled."

Kiro breathed deep. "Good."

He struck first.

The Threnody Blade carved a wound in the concept of sequence. Blood — silver, hot, recursive — sprayed into the sky and rained down as flaming oracles.

But the Colossus did not bleed. It remembered being wounded, and so it was undone and healed at once.

It raised its fist and punched through ten minutes of Kiro’s life.

Kiro staggered—memories leaking from his eyes—but stood.

And then he did something the Archive had never prepared him for:

He smiled.

And he said, "You’re just a fossil."

Then he unleashed the Seedlight.

[SEEDLIGHT ASCENSION: FORGE STATE – 82%]

— "Release condition met. Initiating First Severance."

Time cracked.

The Threnody Blade split in two, becoming twin soul-arcs — one shaped from regret, the other from hope denied.

Kiro vaulted, reversed his age mid-air, and struck the Colossus in the instant it had once feared being born.

The scream tore through the plane like a prophecy aborted mid-sentence.

The Colossus shattered.

Not with explosion.

With grace.

Its death birthed a flower of molten light.

And still, the dream was not done.

II. THE SWORDSAINT OF SORROW

Kiro landed as the next figure stepped from the fog.

A woman in tattered white, face veiled, blade drawn — not steel, but grief incarnate, humming with the names of the dead.

She said nothing.

Her presence made his heartbeat skip. Not in fear — in respect.

He bowed.

And she struck.

Their blades clashed in silence. No sparks, no screams — just clarity.

She moved like poetry gone to war. Every strike was a memory she had vowed not to forget. Every parry demanded he remember who he’d failed.

When she cut his chest, it wasn’t pain — it was the memory of watching Vevadexus die.

When she struck his hand, it was the shame of running.

But when Kiro finally cut back, his blade whispered a name.

His own.

And her blade stopped.

She nodded once.

Then faded, leaving only her blade behind.

Kiro took it.

III. THE THING ON THE THRONE

Kiro approached the third and final foe.

A throne built from corpses. Smoke rising in reverse.

And on it sat himself—but wrong.

No light in the eyes. No soul in the body. Just a reflection created by the Void, perfected in silence.

It smiled.

"You are not me," Kiro said.

It raised the blade.

It said only one word:

"Yet."

And then it charged.

What followed was not battle. It was a mirroring.

Each strike matched.

Each tactic countered.

Kiro screamed with the voice of the living. His double screamed with the voice of the unborn.

The world cracked.

The throne exploded.

And in the final instant, Kiro drove both his blades into the chest of the doppelganger.

It grinned.

"You’ll become me when you give up mercy."

"I won’t," Kiro said, breath ragged.

"You already did once."

Then it died.

UMBRA PRIME – SURFACE – THREE HOURS LATER

The pod hissed open.

Smoke drifted out.

Pablo turned, weapon drawn—then froze.

Kiro stepped out barefoot.

No armor.

No blade drawn.

And yet, his presence bent gravity.

He looked at the Kruger soldiers standing nearby and whispered:

"Gather them."

Pablo blinked. "Gather who?"

Kiro looked to the stars, toward the war tearing the galaxy apart.

"The ones still worth saving.""And the ones who forgot what we were fighting for.""The war ends when I say it ends. And I say it ends... soon."
