BLOOD MUTANT SYSTEM. Chapter 233

Waking up from a short state of unconsciousness, the Blood Bishop rushed to do the first thing he so badly wanted to do ever since he acquired the Emberwyrm as his newest addition to his Blood Beast collection.

Having passed out due to weakness and exhaustion, he didn’t get the chance to bestow his eyes upon the sheer-sized beast that was a pain for him to kill. Thankfully, he was able to awaken after making a full recovery, thanks to the care of his sister who told the other Humans about the Blood Bishop’s feat. Now that he was awake, he made quick work to summon the Emberwyrm.

"Wait, you’re not going to summon that thing here, right?"

Cherry asked, having learned a couple of actions her brother took before summoning any of his Conjured Blood Beings. The Blood Bishop looked back, nodded, and expressed his excitedness saying, "It’s what I’ve been waiting to do."

Cherry sighed, worried that the beast would be too large to fit in the room they were in, despite it being incredibly large, almost the size of an industrial-grade warehouse.

"Let’s do it outside, you might crush all of us under that beast’s sheer size."

Anya and Jim remained confused, uncertain of what the Blood Mutant siblings were murmuring about. They knew about beasts, having fought a couple in their training with Lord Grania, but they didn’t expect them to be as large as the Blood Knight described them. Thıs text ıs hosted at 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡✶𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚✶𝙣𝙚𝙩

"It can’t possibly be bigger than those damned worms we fought, right?" Anya inquired and got a simple nod from Cherry which didn’t clear her curiosity at all. "Is that a yes, or a no?"

"Oh, it’s not that big," Cherry answered quickly, rushing to Ace’s side to stop him from summoning the beast. "But it could still crush us from here. He can’t summon it inside. Maybe outside but not here."

Ace grumbled, nearly pushing his sister aside so he’d summon his new beast. Complaining, he looked at the Blood Knight and argued saying, "They won’t allow us outside at this time, right?"

"False," Lord Grim and Lord Grania pranced in their room. Upon laying eyes on them, the Humans knew something was wrong. They could not only see it but they also sensed it.

Why else would they wear their armor sets?

"We’re resuming the war in a few hours," Lord Grania addressed and separated the Humans into their respective groups. Cherry, Skyler, and Ace were going to work together while Jim and Anya would perform at the slightly occupied frontlines just so they’d have the chance to practice their training. Since Lord Grania classified both of them as weak, he opted to have them slowly rise through the ranks until they’d catch up with the other three. "We will need all five of you to fight at your beast. The Ethisians have made it into the middle gate and are taking our trade colonies for themselves."

"As we speak, " Lord Grim continued, "a war has broken out in some of our most important trade colonies. If we lose it, we lose most of the material that’s used to build our ships and train all of you. We’ll also lose a great amount of our income generators. Going into details will take a while. Come with us and let us begin."

Without hesitation, Ace was the first to leave the room, excited to go to war again. This was going be a chance for him to grow stronger, level up quicker, and acquire more soldiers in his army. Little did the others know that the Blood Bishop was working his way to become a Blood King, steadily gathering numbers to surpass the armies of his enemies.

Cherry followed, keeping a close eye on her brother not just to make sure he wouldn’t do anything reckless but also to learn from him. After all, it was her resolve to become as strong as he was and eventually surpass him. The only way to do that was to copy what he’d do and enhance it in her own way.

Following afterward was Skyler who was already dressed in her expandable uniform, a piece of fabric that would increase or decrease depending on her body. The last to follow were Anya, who glared at both Granians, and Jim, who had been quiet the entire session.

Once they left the room, they were escorted to their chambers for feeding, regular checkups and tests, and finally the weapons they were going to use.

As usual, Ace and Cherry turned down the Granian weapons, opting to use their own. Skyler did the same thing, having no need to use any weapons that would hinder her beastly transformations. As for the other two Blood Mutants, they had no choice but to use them, it being a direct order from Lord Grania.

"Two battalions are leaving in the next minute. Ace, Cherry, and Skyler will group with the first battalion. Anya and Jim will group with the second, " Lord Grim debriefed them. "Escorting you will be Chris and Lily, I’m sure you all know them."

Jim, Skyler, and Ace looked down on the other Granians who disguised themselves in their human forms. Skyler and Ace had bones to pick with them, particularly Lily who mistreated them at the Gifted Military Academy on Earth, and Chris who tricked and lied to them on Earth. Cherry had the same grudge, but hers wasn’t as intense as the others. She had more pending matters to worry about than hold a grudge with someone she didn’t care about that way.

"To think that you two were strong students," Jim scoffed. "Although, I did find it quite odd that of all of them, you two showed the quickest growth in all of ArkVille. Should have known."

"We apologize for that," Chris apologized with a nervous laugh as he scratched the back of his head. "You’d understand if you were put in our position as well."

Interrupting the others, Lily turned to Lord Grim with fear on her face and pleaded saying, "Allow me to join the other two, Lord Grim."

The reason for that was fear. Fear that the Blood Bishop and Blood Knight would end her. Fear that she’d get injured or do something that could result in her inevitable but premature death. She just couldn’t risk being left alone with the two siblings.

"Very well," Lord Grim accepted and then dispatched the Humans. "Chris and Lily, please walk your groups through the procedures. Have them know what they’ll do and be sure they accomplish it."

Since the others were still engrossed in conversations, the Blood Bishop got sidetracked, thinking about much more important matters. Having made plans already, he strategically plotted every move, every attack, and every wish he had to perform on the battlefield. Most importantly, he was hoping to meet a strong Granian on the battlefield to add to his collection and was also hoping to see the Emberwyrm in action.
