Unconsciously, the campfire in the forest extinguished, night fell, and a little moonlight poured through the crevices of the dense forest, accompanied by specks of luminescent light across the woods.
Ronan stopped his "experiment" and got up to greet Molli’er to set out.
The latter followed expressionlessly, and the two continued walking deeper into the dense forest.
As a former "Top-level Rich Lady" who had a Level 5 Wizard closely following her, Molli’er had been having a tough time following Ronan these days.
The two had trekked in the Wuhao Mountain Range for several days, and Molli’er, unable to use any Spell powers, already had her feet covered in rotting leaves and mud, plus numerous cuts from stones and grass.
Though Molli’er’s physique wasn’t weak, allowing normal wounds to heal possibly before the day ended, the sensation of pain when injured was very real.
Ronan’s Space Ring didn’t contain shoes suitable for Molli’er to wear; tearing a Magic Robe might somewhat suffice, but ill-fitting shoes were worse than none at all.
Ronan indeed had the capability to craft a pair of temporary "boots" for Molli’er, but he definitely would not do so.
He still harbored a desire to kill Molli’er, and if their mutual Symbiosis State were terminated now, he would definitely kill her without hesitation.
Besides that, Molli’er had not eaten for five days, Ronan once saw her secretly licking dew off leaves when thirsty, and once, because she ate toxic berries growing by the roadside, she hurt so much that she bit through her lower lip...
Ronan completely ignored it, preferring to bear the same pain as Molli’er than to show any care for her unless she was about to torment herself to death, then he would intervene.
The two walked occasionally and stopping without knowing how much time had passed.
Suddenly, a hazy light entered Ronan’s vision.
Ronan’s eyes flickered slightly, quickly pushing aside the thick bushes in front of him, his entire being immediately captivated by the scene ahead.
There in a coniferous forest, each tree was "shining," emitting a hazy light like Moonlight, presenting a dream-like beautiful scenery.
Ronan felt delighted, those trees must be the Moon Trees as described by Ewaqu.
Clearly, he had entered the range of the place agreed upon with Ewaqu.
Ronan quickly moved deeper into the Moon Tree Forest, but Molli’er gradually fell behind him.
Ronan thought she was captivated and lost in the beautiful scenery of the Moon Tree Forest, but turning back, he saw her sweating profusely, walking staggeringly with difficulty.
Both her feet were densely filled with glowing "thorns."
As someone who practiced Ascetic Body Refinement year-round, Ronan was almost immune to such minor pain.
He frowned slightly, and in a flash, decided to carry Molli’er and continued on their way.
After roughly five minutes of walking, suddenly...
A faint sound of air breaking echoed in the silent forest.
Ronan looked in the direction of the sound, only to see thin, glowing ripples spreading in the air before him, and with a slight dispersion of spiritual power, those spreading ripples abruptly halted.
A black thorn arrow over a foot long hovered in front of Ronan.
Ronan’s eyes twinkled slightly, and the black thorn arrow turned direction and let out a screech louder than before and disappeared again.
Next, it seemed to have deeply pierced into some wooden stake, followed by a faint rustling noise.
Ronan took a slight step forward and calmly shouted out a phrase in the native dialect.
This was taught to him by Ewaqu.
