She put down her phone.
It’s still half an hour from the hotel to the film set, and Zhou Yun wanted to catch a bit more shut-eye.
Gu Huaichun’s voice suddenly came from up front.
"Why are you back so early?" There was a hint of grievance in Gu Huaichun’s voice.
Zhou Yun opened her eyes, "Huh?"
Gu Huaichun: "Didn’t you take time off to leave?"
"I came back after I finished what I needed to do."
Gu Huaichun responded with an "Oh," then fell silent.
Zhou Yun thought for a moment and then realized, "You thought I wouldn’t come back last night, huh?"
Gu Huaichun did not respond.
"The soundproofing in this hotel really isn’t great."
"That’s enough, you don’t need to say more." Gu Huaichun didn’t want to listen anymore.
Zhou Yun was a bit surprised.
"Are you feeling shy?"
Gu Huaichun became angrily embarrassed, "Shy about what?!"
Zhou Yun frowned in a puzzled way, "Last time you didn’t care at all, you had an indifferent demeanor, and now you’re feeling shy? Is your reaction time incredibly slow or what?"
Gu Huaichun: "Aren’t you annoying?"
Zhou Yun couldn’t help but laugh heartily.
Upon arriving at the film set, Gu Huaichun quickly got out of the car, seemingly not wanting to stay with Zhou Yun for even One Second longer.
Zhou Yun curled the corners of her mouth slightly, feeling a triumphant sense of turning defeat into victory in her heart.
She made her way to the makeup room with familiar ease, sat down, smiled at the makeup artist who was waiting for her, and started getting her makeup done.
Zhou Yun yawned, still trying to catch up on sleep, and closed her eyes. It wasn’t long before she heard the whispers of two crew members nearby.
"Did you hear that Xu Siyao is coming today?"
"It seems so. She arrived last night."
"Finally, she’s here. All the other actors have arrived; she’s the only one who is so late."
"That’s enough, don’t say that. She’s from the same company as Zhou Yun; she’s the junior sister."
Zhou Yun thought to herself, what kind of junior sister is this.
But to Zhou Yun’s surprise, Xu Siyao had joined the cast. Zhou Yun hadn’t received any news about it. Zhou Lan probably hadn’t been informed in advance either; otherwise, knowing the relationship between her and Xu Siyao, Zhou Lan would have definitely warned her beforehand.
While reflecting on this, the door to the makeup room opened yet again.
Zhou Yun heard a familiar voice.
Zhou Yun couldn’t help but feel gloomy. She just wanted to snag a bit of sleep, so why was it so difficult?
Zhou Yun opened her eyes and glanced at Xu Siyao, who had walked in, through the mirror, saying, "Oh, you’ve arrived."
Xu Siyao said, "I was actually planning to invite Sister Xiao Yun for dinner last night, but it turned out that you were on leave."
Zhou Yun asked, "Did you arrive yesterday?"
"Yes." Xu Siyao sat down next to Zhou Yun. "Sigh, I’ve been incredibly busy lately. The company even wanted me to join the crew a few days later, but I already felt embarrassed for delaying it so much."
"Being busy is good." Zhou Yun smiled faintly.
"Sister Xiao Yun has been very busy lately, right? I heard you have to film seven or eight scenes a day," Xu Siyao spoke, "You look like you’ve lost some color."
Zhou Yun observed herself in the mirror. Lost color? Are you blind?
"Really?" Zhou Yun yawned lightly, "So tired."
The makeup artist spoke considerately, "Take a nap if you need to, I’ll wake you up when your makeup is done."
"Thank you." Zhou Yun closed her eyes.
Since her eyes were closed, she didn’t have to talk to Xu Siyao anymore.
And just in one morning, Zhou Yun successfully made it clear to Gu Huaichun that she didn’t like Xu Siyao.
At lunch, Xu Siyao didn’t join them. She had her assistant buy a takeaway meal and went to the break room to eat.
Gu Huaichun got his meal and sat down, immediately asking, "Do you not like your junior sister?"
Zhou Yun wasn’t sure whether to answer the question "I don’t like her" first, or to point out that the title "junior sister" wasn’t correct.
"You... not embarrassed anymore?" Zhou Yun decided to make Gu Huaichun uncomfortable first.
Gu Huaichun glared, "Are you ever going to let it go?"
"Never." Zhou Yun smiled joyfully.
Gu Huaichun: "Your junior sister is much sweeter with her words than you."
Zhou Yun snorted coldly, "Then why don’t you go eat with her instead?"
Gu Huaichun: "Whatever you say, we’ve also been comrades in the same trench for so long."
"Don’t, I’m just a Celebrity who somebody initially didn’t take seriously at all."
"Is that ever going to end? You had such an attitude at the start; it was normal for me to not fancy you," Gu Huaichun said, "Why do you hold grudges over every little thing?"
