Wei Chen soothed, "Don’t worry, he’ll understand sooner or later that he can’t call the shots on this show."
"Yeah, I know, and thankfully I have you guys by my side. God knows how much we’ve sacrificed for this show. I never take leave unless I’m filming, and the same goes for you. You understand me best. So many shows out there are offering higher rates for us, but we’ve refused all of them and kept doing this one. I kind of miss Zhao Qin; though his personal character isn’t great, his ability is much stronger than this Gan Bida’s."
"He also got unlucky because of some villain."
"What a pity. He even contacted me a few days ago, wanted to have dinner with me."
"You didn’t agree, did you?" Wei Chen asked.
"Of course not. At this time, if someone photographed me having dinner with him, what would they think?"
"Right, you have to be careful, especially at this time." Wei Chen smiled, "Especially you, with fame comes many troubles, you must be careful."
Wei Chen’s reminders and cautions were like a conversation between real friends, full of consideration for each other.
After a morning of hustling, Zhou Yun and Liu Haiyu deciphered two clues and successfully checked in at two locations.
At noon, they sat together in a café for a rest.

She turned to find her assistant, "Quick, bring me my parasol and sunscreen spray!"
Wei Chen stood aside, waiting for Su Yan, smiling good-naturedly.
Su Yan complained with a grimace, "You have no idea how much my company wants me to quit this program, all because there are too many outdoor shoots for the show and the risk of getting tanned. One of my skincare endorsements raised objections, saying I’ve become one shade darker. Is that really so exaggerated?"
"They’re nitpicking. Where have you tanned?" Wei Chen said, "You’re very pale, don’t listen to them. Maybe they’re trying to find faults deliberately to lower the price."
Su Yan huffed, saying, "I think so too. My eyes aren’t blind. Can’t I see for myself whether I’ve tanned or not?"
Thinking of something, she turned to her writer, "Where has Lew Qingqing’s team checked in?"
The writer shook their head, "I don’t know, the director didn’t tell us."
"Then go ask Gan Bida," Su Yan said, "We can’t let her take first place today, no matter what."
The writer nodded in agreement.
Wei Chen exclaimed, "Whoa, you’re going all out today."
Su Yan turned to look at him and asked, "Do I need to go all out against her?"
Wei Chen immediately raised his hands, shaking his head, "I misspoke. You certainly don’t need to for someone like her."
Su Yan snorted coldly, "She’s just a defeated subordinate of Lew Qingqing."
Just then, her writer returned.
"Sister Su Yan, Zhou Yun’s team has reached the second to last checkpoint."
Su Yan’s complexion changed instantly; she frowned and asked, "How can she be so fast? Isn’t this her first time on the show?"
The writer shook their head, "I don’t know."
"What if Gan Bida gave her clues privately?" Su Yan frowned, "Gan Bida is going too far!"
Wei Chen didn’t say anything.
Su Yan ordered her assistant, "Bring me my phone."
