"You..."
Mo Roulan whispered to no one in particular. Her eyes didn’t leave the face of the man standing in front of her for a moment.
How long had it been since she saw him last!
Two whole years perhaps. But he looked completely different from the man who he was two years ago.
There was now slight stubble on his chin. She could see dark circles under his eyes as if he had not slept for many days.
And his eyes ...they were currently full of rage and coldness like that of ice.
Mo Roulan came out of her trance only when she saw He Jian moving towards Cheng Yang again.
"No!"
She screamed when she saw He Jian ready to punch Cheng Yang again. However, her scream didn’t stop him. His fist landed on Cheng Yang’s cheek even before Mo Roulan could reach him to stop him.
"How dare you?!"
He Jian’s voice was icy cold as he held Cheng Yang’s collar and spoke
"She is my girl. Lanlan is my girlfriend. She is already taken. How dare you touch her that way!"
Cheng Yang could not see anything in front of him clearly. But he still replied to He Jian’s words in an equally cold voice.
"She is not your girlfriend, Mr. He. She has already broken up with you."
"You..."
He Jian was ready to punch Cheng Yang again, furious at what he said but before he could do so, a soft hand suddenly held his hand firmly and he heard her voice.
"No! Leave him. He Jian, I dare you to hit him again."
He Jian’s eyes flashed with a cold glint of light and he raised his head to look at Mo Roulan. However, when he saw the flicker of fear in her eyes, his eyes softened immediately.
He left Cheng Yang on the ground who suddenly fell unconscious and stood up in front of Mo Roulan.
"Lanlan!"
He Jian whispered in a very gentle voice. The whole two years...he had not seen her for two years.
Only he knew how he had lived these two years.
Busying himself on his work, he didn’t even leave a second for his mind to rest so that Mo Roulan’s thoughts would not plague him. Even medicines rarely work for him to have some sleep.
It was a surprise how his body has been working for these two years. But the effect could be seen in it.
He would not even look at the photographs of her because he was afraid that he would not be able to control himself from reaching out to her if he saw her even in her photographs.
Yesterday he dared to see a photograph and see Cheng Yang in one of them, He Jian finally lost the control he had maintained for whole two years.
"Lanlan, I missed you so much..."
He whispered again eager to hug her in his arms tightly. But before he could do so, he saw her running to the unconscious Cheng Yang.
"Cheng Yang! Wake up."
Mo Roulan was scared when she saw that Cheng Yang was bleeding and was not even opening his eyes.
"Oh my God! We need to go to the hospital."
Mo Roulan’s heart was filled with anger towards He Jian. But she was aware that it was not the time to get angry. She took out her phone ready to call at the hospital. But before she could do so, He Jian suddenly snatched her phone from her hands.
"You...have you gone crazy?"
Mo Roulan said furiously. She couldn’t control herself any longer.
"Yes"
He Jian replied and holding her arm, made her stand on her feet.
Mo Roulan pushed his hand away and said coldly
"Give me my phone back. He needs a doctor immediately."
However, He Jian didn’t give her her phone and held her arm again. Then he started to drag her towards his car while saying
"My people will take care of him and send him to the hospital. You don’t need to worry for him."
Mo Roulan frowned deeply as she tried to get out of his hold. But she couldn’t match his physical strength. Her eyes widened when she realized that He Jian was intending to take her to his car.
"Leave me, He Jian. Where are you taking me?"
However, instead of leaving, He Jian held her closer and said calmly
"We need to talk. You won’t listen to me two years ago. I gave you enough time to calm down. But today, you need to listen to me. We will sort out the issues between us."
He couldn’t let her stay away from him any longer. It was torture for him.
"This is wrong!"
Mo Roulan shouted suddenly.
"You are forcing me."
He Jian paused when he heard these words. His hold on her loosened suddenly. But when the next moment, Mo Roulan suddenly went unconscious, He Jian could only catch her figure firmly in his arms.
"Lanlan!"
He Jian shouted in panic.
It was only then when he patted her cheek, did he realize that her skin was completely warm.
She had a fever...that too quite high.
He didn’t even realize this before in his anger. He Jian was angry with himself as he shouted for Chu Feng.
"Chu Feng, I need a doctor."
"Yes, Boss"
Chu Feng replied immediately while He Jian carried Mo Roulan inside the car.
Once inside the car, He Jian made her lie in the backseat with her head in his lap so that she would be comfortable. He removed his coat and covered her body with it.
She had such a high fever and she was out instead of resting at home.
There was a deep frown on his forehead and his eyes were filled with worry.
"Everything is ready, Boss."
Chu Feng said from the front seat and He Jian merely nodded his head, not moving his eye away from Mo Roulan.
Chu Feng sighed and silently started the car.
It was just a fever. Chu Feng didn’t understand why his boss was so worried.
He didn’t know if he should be relieved that his boss had gotten Miss Mo Roulan or if he should be freaking out seeing his boss’ behavior.
