In the pitch-black movie theater, where only the massive screen was visible, Gu Qiangwei suddenly took off her 3D glasses, looking around.
Could it really be that someone wanted to harm her?
In the dim light, it was hard to make sense of anything. Putting on her glasses again, she continued watching the movie.
Halfway through, her phone rang again.
The call was from Qin Sijue, who had just made it back to his hotel after finishing up some business.
"What are you doing?"
"What are you doing?" Qin Sijue repeated from the other side.
Gu Qiangwei, however, couldn’t hear him very well and checked her signal strength—just two bars.
"I’m going outside to take this call!"
She tapped Huo Yishan, who was thoroughly enjoying the movie, before stepping out of the theater.
Outside, the signal was indeed much stronger and it was quieter too.
"What did you just say?"
"I asked what you are doing. Is the signal bad over there?" Qin Sijue could sense it.
Gu Qiangwei nodded, "Yeah, I’m with Yishan watching a movie, just stepped out."
"Are you done with your work?"
"Hmm, just got back to the hotel."
After a while, Gu Qiangwei suddenly spoke up, "Qin Sijue."
"Did you... really have someone protect me?"
Qin Sijue furrowed his brows, "Don’t you dislike the feeling of being watched? Why suddenly ask?"
"Just tell me whether you did or not."
"Oh, then I’m relieved!" She blurted out instinctively.
But Qin Sijue frowned, "Relieved about what?"
"Nothing! Anything else? I need to get back to the movie!"
"What?" She thought he would say there was nothing else.
"..." Is that the "something else"?
"That’s so perfunctory."
"I need to go watch the movie now."
"Is the movie more important, or am I?"
"You!" She answered without hesitation, knowing that if she had said ’the movie’, Qin Sijue, who was in City G, might just rush back to spank her hard!
"Then chat with me and forget the movie!"
"But I paid for this ticket, it would be a shame not to watch."
"I’ll compensate you for ten tickets."
After that, Gu Qiangwei hung up the phone directly!
Listening to the ’beep beep’ from inside, Qin Sijue put down his phone but ended up just chuckling softly.
Back in the theater, Gu Qiangwei resumed her seat, and for the rest of the show, she enjoyed it immensely.
As the movie ended, Huo Yishan stretched, "Ah! I’m so tired!"
Turning to her slightly weary friend, Gu Qiangwei smiled.
"Let’s go, time to head home!"
The two sisters stood up and left, walking toward the underground parking lot.
"Where did you park your car?"
"I’m in section C, so I’ll head over there first!"
Gu Qiangwei smiled and watched as Huo Yishan walked towards section C of the parking lot.
Afterward, she turned and headed towards section B herself.
Having been through a lot, Gu Qiangwei’s vigilance seemed to have increased.
Before she reached her parking spot, she felt as though several pairs of eyes were watching her from behind.
She slightly curved her lips, not letting it bother her and continued walking forward while pulling out her car keys to open the door.
The moment she sat in the driver’s seat and the car lights came on, immediately in front of her white Maserati, numerous men in black appeared, blocking her way.
Normally, Gu Qiangwei might have shown a surprised expression, but today, she was completely calm, as if there was no one in front of the car.
