Feng Jinglei was startled and glanced sideways at Qin Feimo, unsure of what his grandmother was up to.
Qin Feimo, however, spotted Zhuang Yanyan’s intentions at a glance and involuntarily furrowed his brows, fixing a stare on her, "Grandma, this isn’t appropriate, is it?"
"Shh, let’s go downstairs and talk about it," she whispered especially softly, signaling Qin Feimo to keep his voice down too, fearing that their conversation would be overheard by the couple in the room.
Then, Zhuang Yanyan led them downstairs on tiptoe.
"Grandma, if Sijue finds out about your actions today, he probably won’t stay here much longer in the future."
As they descended the stairs, Qin Feimo couldn’t help but point out his grandmother’s unethical behavior.
Hearing her grandson’s words, Zhuang Yanyan immediately turned around and glared at him discontentedly, "What behavior? This entire house is mine, I can go wherever I want!"
"You know what I am referring to." Qin Feimo glanced at his grandmother, who was over eighty, knowing she was eagerly anticipating the arrival of great-grandchildren.
"I don’t know!" Zhuang Yanyan snapped a look at her eldest grandson, firmly denying her ’eavesdropping’.
"Even if I really did something, it would have been because I ’accidentally overheard’ it!"
Qin Feimo couldn’t help but roll his eyes to heaven, thinking that only his grandmother could utter such a blatant lie!
Following that, Zhuang Yanyan turned around and continued walking downstairs.
"Oh my, it looks like I’ll definitely be able to hold two great-grandchildren this year..."
As she walked, she envisioned two great-grandsons being born, and then, in a couple of years, she could watch them totter around her.
Just the thought made her feel wonderfully happy!
In the living room, seeing everyone descend, Qin Guozhong thought they were all coming down and stood up to head to the dining room.
After all, it was time to eat since everyone was present.
Who could have anticipated that before reaching the dining room entrance, Zhuang Yanyan suddenly spoke up, "Axian, bring some chicken soup over for Jinglei to eat first; we’ll eat later!"
"Yes." As Zhuang Yanyan’s personal servant, Axian naturally understood the old lady’s intentions, nodded with a smile, and then headed to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Qin Guozhong, who was halted midway by his wife’s statement, frowned and turned to look at her.
"Why should we eat later?" It was already past seven o’clock, were they trying to starve people?
Zhuang Yanyan glared at Qin Guozhong, "What’s the rush? No one’s going to starve by eating a little later!"
Qin Guozhong paused, sensing something off with his wife.
The meal was ready; there was no reason not to eat.
"Yanyan, are you again—"
"Alright, I said we’ll eat later, so we’ll eat later!" With that, Zhuang Yanyan sat down in the sofa, beaming with pleasure and happiness.
Soon after, Axian came out with a bowl of chicken soup, respectfully approaching Feng Jinglei, "Young Madam."
"Grandma, it’s no problem if I eat later.
"How can that be? There’s another one in your belly; as someone who has been through it, you absolutely cannot go hungry at this time. Be good and eat, ah." Seeing her granddaughter-in-law, the elderly lady’s smile widened even more.
Qin Guozhong looked at his wife, then at his granddaughter-in-law, and finally at his eldest grandson.
Clearly, the meal hadn’t started because the younger grandson and his wife had not come down yet.
"Master." A servant approached.
"Go upstairs and call Young Master and Young Madam Qin Si to come down for dinner!" Qin Guozhong commanded without fully understanding the situation, intending to summon Qin Sijue and Gu Qiangwei downstairs, while settling beside his wife, planning to wait for them before proceeding to the dining room for the meal.
