The mother and daughter had talked until late into the night before they each went back to their rooms to rest.
Since Qin Sijue was not there, Gu Qiangwei agreed when Tang Yuyan asked her to stay over.

"Grandma, I’m at... the Nangong home." Gu Qiangwei didn’t know how to start explaining.

"Were you there last night?"
"Granddaughter-in-law, Grandma came to Jueyuan but you weren’t there. Look, with Sijue away on business, why don’t you come to the Commander Residence and stay with Grandma for a few days?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Qiangwei paused, "You’re at Jueyuan?"
"Then I’ll come back right away!"
"No rush, have you had breakfast yet?"
Gu Qiangwei felt a bit embarrassed, "Not yet, I just got up..."
It was already eight o’clock, and during the winter, she tended to linger in the warm bed.

Exiting her room, she reached the staircase just as she came face to face with a cold face.
Glancing at Nangong Feifei, who was also heading downstairs, Gu Qiangwei averted her gaze and began stepping down the stairs with a rather cold expression.
Watching her slender back, Nangong Feifei clenched the hand by her side, growing more irritated by the moment. Suddenly, she took a quick step forward and pushed Gu Qiangwei from behind!
As Gu Qiangwei was about to descend the stairs, her foot had just stepped down when she felt a sudden force from behind pushing her forward—
At the critical moment, she tightly grasped the stair railing!
But because she misstepped, her body slid down, though, fortunately, her hand was tightly gripping the railing, preventing her from tumbling downwards.
Looking straight down the staircase steps, Gu Qiangwei lay on the edge of the railing, taking several deep breaths.
Had she not held on tightly, she might have fallen just like her mother.
She turned her head, her piercing gaze directed at Nangong Feifei standing there.
Nangong Feifei, unwilling to show weakness, glanced at her and pretended as if nothing had happened, walking straight past her down the stairs.
Using the banister, albeit with some pain in her ankle, Gu Qiangwei still managed to stand up.
