Suddenly, the cellphone rang.
To answer the call conveniently, Gu Qiangwei slowed down her car significantly and then picked up the phone, seeing it was Qin Sijue calling.
“Where are you!?” On the phone, Qin Sijue’s voice was clearly fraught with anxiety.
“I’m on Southwest Road! Yishan’s car broke down, I came to pick her up.” Noticing a T-intersection ahead, Gu Qiangwei slowed down even further, while responding to Qin Sijue.

“Do you even know your own condition? You’re still running to pick up your friend despite being ?”
Hearing the slight anger in his tone, Gu Qiangwei knew he was worried about her and sheepishly responded, “I don’t feel that bad anymore, I threw up a little water earlier, and then I felt much better.”
If she hadn’t been able to drive, she definitely wouldn’t have come to pick up Yishan by herself.
After all, in such a condition, a single misstep could endanger both her and the baby.
Qin Sijue furrowed his brows, she still looked a bit pale when he left.
“Not feeling bad anymore?”
Gu Qiangwei nodded her head, “Yeah, I feel much better than before, don’t worry about me, I’ll be back soon.”
Qin Sijue closed his eyes, knowing she had already arrived there, saying anything more would be of no use.
“Almost, about another ten kilometers or so.”
“Once you get there, stand still with Huo Yishan and don’t go anywhere, wait for me to come get you!” As he spoke, Qin Sijue was already rapidly heading towards the front door.
Gu Qiangwei on the phone was somewhat confused.
She clearly had her own car there, why did she need to wait for him to come pick her up?
“No need, I drove here…”
“Just do as I say! I’ll be there in no time!”
From his tone, Gu Qiangwei seemed to realize something.
Could it be that he had seen the news about Nangong Feifei’s escape as well, and was worried she might be targeted for revenge?
“Did you see the news?”
Qin Sijue’s dark eyes tightened, his hands swiftly pulling open the car door, but then he hesitated and turned to walk in another direction.
Meanwhile asking, “What news?”

Gu Qiangwei wasn’t angry and fully understood the reason behind his worry.
However, she couldn’t simply refuse a distress call from a close sister because of a fugitive Nangong Feifei.
She didn’t have many friends, her only close sister was Huo Yishan, was she supposed to say, ‘I can’t come pick you up because Nangong Feifei has escaped’? She couldn’t do that, nor did she think that by going out, she would just happen to be targeted by Nangong Feifei.
Although she vaguely felt that this escape would only have two purposes for Nangong Feifei, either to flee the country or seek revenge against her.
Knowing he was anxious, Gu Qiangwei didn’t say anything else, but simply said, “Alright, worst comes to worst, Yishan and I will wait for you to come get—ah!”
Before she could finish her sentence, Gu Qiangwei’s eyes widened as she saw a black sedan suddenly darting out from the T-intersection ahead!
In a panic, her instinct was to drop the phone and quickly grab the steering wheel, swerving sharply to the right!!
