In an instant, the entire restaurant echoed with horrific wails.
Gu Qiangwei and Huo Yishan, coming down from the second floor, were also shocked and stopped at the stairway upon witnessing the scene.
From their angle, it was clear that the fork had flown out of Qin Sijue’s hand.
In a moment, as those screams sounded, the restaurant plunged into chaos.
However, Qin Sijue’s expression remained unchanged, his eyes as deep as the night, glanced slightly, and he saw Gu Qiangwei was already downstairs. Then, he turned to a waiter, perhaps intimidated by the coldness in his dark eyes. Upon meeting his gaze, the waiter flinched and then hesitantly approached.
"Sir, what can I do for you?" the waiter asked, trembling.
The next second, Qin Sijue pulled out a gold card from his wallet and said calmly, "Check, please."
Hearing it was time to pay, the waiter breathed a sigh of relief and walked toward the cashier with the card.
Then, Qin Sijue stood up and walked leisurely toward where Gu Qiangwei and Huo Yishan were.
A faint, light smile always played on his lips, sexy and captivating.
He wrapped an arm around Gu Qiangwei’s slender waist, ignoring the astonished gazes of the others, and walked nonchalantly toward the entrance of the restaurant with his wife in his arms.
Gu Qiangwei was still somewhat dazed, looking at him and then at Ling Xi, not understanding what had just happened.
Her gaze briefly flitted to Ling Xi, who still seemed somewhat stunned. She wanted to speak, but Qin Sijue had no intention of stopping and kept walking toward the door.
Standing behind them, Ling Xi suddenly spoke as they were leaving.
All three paused and turned their heads in unison, looking toward Ling Xi.
But Ling Xi’s gaze was fixed on Qin Sijue, "Th—thank you, Mr. Qin."
It was only after she spoke that Gu Qiangwei faintly realized, had Qin Sijue been disciplining that man to help Ling Xi?
Noticing her waitress uniform, Gu Qiangwei also realized she must be a waitress at this restaurant.
Qin Sijue merely glanced at her briefly, then took Gu Qiangwei’s arm and turned to leave.
Once outside the restaurant, Gu Qiangwei couldn’t help but speak up, "Isn’t Ling Xi working at Dijue? Why is she working as a waitress here?"
"I’m not sure," Qin Sijue answered.
The three of them continued walking toward the parked car.
"Hey, Weiwei!" At this point, Huo Yishan couldn’t hold back either.
Gu Qiangwei turned her head, glancing at her friend, "Hmm?"
"Doesn’t that Ling Xi seem to like Qin Sijue?"
This sudden question made the couple pause, and they both turned their heads to look at Huo Yishan.
Huo Yishan seemed to have asked the question casually, but she hadn’t expected such a reaction from them.
Then, she caught Qin Sijue’s visibly darkening face, his displeased gaze sweeping over her.
Realizing she might have said something inappropriate, Huo Yishan immediately started speaking with a smile, "I mean no offense. I just think every time Ling Xi looks at Qin Sijue, her eyes carry a little bit of adoration..."
As she spoke, she couldn’t help but raise her hand, making a ’little bit’ gesture.
Qin Sijue’s face continued to darken, but he seemed unwilling to entertain Huo Yishan’s remark any longer, and imperiously took Gu Qiangwei by the arm, striding directly toward the black Maybach.
"Yishan, I’m heading back now!"
"Okay, bye!" Huo Yishan waved at her, then teasingly tormented Qin Sijue, watching Gu Qiangwei’s retreating figure and shouting, "Hey Weiwei, you’re pregnant now, watch out for Qin Sijue cheating on you!"
