He stepped out of the car and ran to the ice-cream shop by the roadside. According to Bai Qianqian’s preference, he bought a tri-color ice cream.
Back in the car, Bai Jingqing handed Qianqian the ice cream. Qianqian took a bite immediately, the sweet taste improving her mood significantly.
Bai Jingqing still glanced from time to time at the girl in the back seat. This time, Qianqian was no longer expressionless; while eating, she looked as content as a little kitten.
After finishing the ice cream, Bai Qianqian saw the handkerchief tossed in the back seat. She picked up the handkerchief and wiped her hands, saying, “I’ll wash this for you and return it later.”
His phone rang. Bai Jingqing put on his earphones, “I’m on duty tonight, I won’t be able to come back.”
“I’m really on duty! Alright, I’m driving now, we’ll talk later. I’ll be back home this weekend, that’s it.” Bai Jingqing finished and pulled off his earphones.
From the backseat, Bai Qianqian couldn’t help but purse her lips. He also lied and accused her of lying!
Bai Jingqing only glanced at her once to know what she was thinking. He frowned in annoyance.
After going back to the community, Bai Jingqing brought her back to his apartment.
“Go take a shower first,” said Bai Jingqing.
“Well… I’m a bit tired, can I go home and shower?” Bai Qianqian frowned in annoyance. She was really tired. If he did anything else, she would surely die of exhaustion.
“If you want your mom to know that you went to the police station…”
Bai Jingqing walked to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and took out a bottle of water to drink.
Indeed, one should never expect this man to be kind-hearted!
“I’m also thirsty. I want a drink,” Bai Qianqian walked to the kitchen and glaringly asked him.
Bai Jingqing gave her an indifferent glance, then picked up a bottle of mineral water and tossed it to her.
“Why do you drink cold water and I drink room temperature? I want cold water too,” protested Bai Qianqian.
“You’re a woman, drinking cold water isn’t good for your health!” Bai Jingqing replied without emotion.
“I used to drink often! It never affected me!” Bai Qianqian protested vehemently.
Bai Jingqing looked at her displeased, “That was because you hadn’t met me, you need to listen to me now!”
He put half a bottle of water that he’d just drunk on the countertop, and went to the fridge to get the ingredients to cook.
“Who’s listening to you!” Bai Qianqian couldn’t help but snicker.
“Do not put ginger in the food when you cook. I don’t like it,” said Bai Qianqian, then she turned around and ran towards the bathroom.
Bai Qianqian’s hand, which was reaching for something, paused. Her eyes squinted as she took a huge piece of ginger out from the fridge and placed it on the chopping board.
By the time Bai Qianqian finished showering, Bai Jingqing had cooked. There was leftover rice in the fridge, so he just made some simple fried rice.
When Bai Qianqian came out of the bathroom, the meal was already on the table. As she sat down and took a sniff, she knew there was ginger in the rice. She got up in disgust, deciding not to eat.
“Sit down, finish it!” Bai Jingqing tapped the table.
“I said I don’t like ginger!” Bai Qianqian frowned in annoyance, knowing that he did it on purpose.
Bai Jingqing coldly smirked, pulling out his phone, “Aunt Bai left me her phone number the other day. I should call and say hello.”
“You…” Disbelieving, Bai Qianqian stared at him. He had indeed tricked her today, yet he was using it against her!
