“Mom, big brother actually has a girlfriend now, he’s not single!” Bai Ruiqing blurted out.
Lady Bai’s eyes lit up. She excitedly turned to her eldest son and asked, “Really! You have a girlfriend now! Whose daughter is she? What does she do for a living? Bring her home one day for your mom to see. Don’t feel burdened. Your mom is very open-minded, as long as she is a good girl, that’s all that matters!”
“Don’t listen to Ruiqing’s nonsense, I don’t have a girlfriend.”

Bai Ruiqing was staring at his older brother in disbelief. Wasn’t his brother with his girlfriend on that boat trip?
Could his older brother be one of those men who engage with disreputable women?

The trio continued their family chatter as they approached the elevator.
Hidden around a corner, Bai Qianqian greedily watched Bai Ruiqing from a distance, her hand clutching the wall tightly.

A nurse was pushing a cart, examining the sneaking girl up and down.
As all three Bai family members turned to look in her direction, Bai Qianqian was startled and started to run. Running too hastily, she bumped into the nurse’s cart, knocking it over.
“Oh dear, what are you doing!” The nurse exclaimed.
“Qianqian!” Bai Ruiqing shouted, pushing his mother’s hand away and clutching his rib cage, he ran towards the source of the noise.
“Ruiqing!” Lady Bai was so scared her heart nearly failed. The doctors had warned that he cannot do any strenuous activities right now!
Bai Jingqing also frowned deeply, coming up to where Bai Ruiqing was, only to see a nurse glaring angrily in one direction, murmuring, “Some people! Hit someone and don’t even apologize! Such a lack of manners!”
“Qianqian…The one who bumped into you, was it a woman?” Bai Ruiqing asked, agitated.
“Yes, a woman in her twenties or so. She was pretty good-looking but who would have thought she has such incongruous manners…Director!” The nurse was startled by Bai Jingqing’s look.
“Go about your business.” Bai Jingqing shot her an unhappy glance.
“It was Qianqian, she came to see me!” Bai Ruiqing immediately tried to follow, but was stopped by Bai Jingqing, who said, “If you run again, you can forget about being discharged!”
Lady Bai also followed, holding on to her son’s arm, refusing to let him go again.
Despite everything, Bai Ruiqing couldn’t resist looking in the direction of the emergency exit. He suddenly felt heartbroken. She must be visiting him , secretly, quite often.
