DESTINY GAMES Chapter 135

The game ended after an hour of play. The tally and data of the game were displayed on screens for everyone to see. The performance of every competitor was also displayed.

88 started the game, but only 11 remained by the end of it. Augustus was one of them, and so was the Baron. The old coot didn't die. He just sat in a building quietly and stayed there throughout the game.

It was as if he only came to the game to stay away from an unpleasant situation in real life, such as slavery. But he didn't behave like he wanted to acquire strength at all.

The moderator didn't like what he did at all. The golden man said in disdain, "And he wonders why they call him boring and stale."

Then he moved on to the other data sheets. He saw that the beasts in the forest killed 27 of the 78 that were eliminated. 14 of them were killed by other players. The remaining 32 were all killed by Augustus alone.

Theseus was impressed by the sight. He said, "41.6% of elimination was caused by a single player. This was a fun bloodbath to watch."

Augustus really performed well. He killed 32 other players and 25 beasts for a total of 57 eliminations. It is clear that he passed. He literally made 19 times the required amount of kills for him to pass.

As for the others, 28 of them passed. Dustin and Friar Paul were one of these 28. They barely killed three beasts before they were unfortunate to encounter Augustus.

Theseus shook his head and said, "It is clear who the best player will be."

No one else made multiple counts of the number they needed to pass. The second highest player had a kill count of 5. They killed five beasts. The difference between that and 57 has made who the title should belong clear to him.

One more, and this second-best might have made six kills. Unfortunately, they were also eliminated by Augustus.

But Theseus doesn't believe that they could have made five kills on their own because this person only made five kills because they were in the group hunting for Augustus.

Their group was ambushed by beasts, and they used the chaos to steal three kills. So only two of their kills were earned.

Theseus shook his head at this. "He is not even worth second-best in terms of skill. But I can barely give second-best in terms of cunning and scheming. The first in terms of cunning also goes to Augustus."

"I'll give him second-best reluctantly. But I won't let him get away with his scheme so easily."

The player that he believes is worthy of second best is Friar Paul. He was strong, and he could have been a good contender for best player if Augustus hadn't participated in the game.

Unfortunately, Paul only killed 3 beasts. He might have gotten the second-best if he had killed four. Theseus would have handed it over to him because the distance between him and the kill stealer would be small. However, that isn't the case.

Paul would be distraught to learn of how narrowly he missed the title, not that it is worth anything. But before then, Theseus was already pissed off with this kill stealer, so he made sure to show everyone how he stole his last three kills.

The replays on the screen showed the perspective of both the kill stealer and his victims. His victims were shown to fight for their lives only for him to swoop in and take their reward in an obviously fake attempt to look like he was saving them.

Theseus nodded in satisfaction. "Now everyone he stole from will know what he did, and everyone else will know how he earned the title. As for third best, I'll give it to poor Paul."

He made his arrangements for the award ceremony quickly as he thought to himself, "That boy Augustus is too strong. I can't believe that his ability is shape-shifting."

While the moderator was doing this, all the competitors were in the tower watching the data of the game and the replays. They haven't been allowed to leave yet because after the game comes the award ceremony.

They have to attend the award ceremony, so they can't leave yet. This meant that even the ones that were eliminated saw the end of the game. They also saw the various replays of the man that stole kills.

Then they were all called over to the platform when the moderator was ready for the award ceremony. All 88 of them that participated in the game were arrayed again on the platform in front of everyone.

They could interact again, but without the bluster and confidence that they had before the game. One thing that hadn't changed was that Augustus was still the most hated. Read new chapters at empire

In fact, a lot more competitors were looking at him with hatred and anger now. The spectators were also booing louder than ever.

Even old man Baron was angrier. The wrinkles on his face became sharp because of his frown. They looked like they would jump from his face and cut Augustus to pieces.

Only Kelvin was smiling. Friar Paul, who had been stoic at the introduction section of the game and had ignored Kelvin, was now frowning at him. The monk looked like he wanted to go over and beat him up.

Sasha and Dustin also looked ready to carve him to pieces. Only Konfucion wasn't looking at him with hatred. Actually, she was not looking at him at all. She looked bored after attacking someone and failing to harm them.

Kelvin looked around this group of haters with the smile that was asking for a beating on his face. Wrath rolled her eyes at his antics.

Kelvin took things further. He called out to the Baron, "Hey, old man. Aren't you going to ask how I did it? I'll tell you if you bow and call me your daddy."
