’Archie Summers? Mika’s brother?’
If Tristan Grayson had looked murderous before, he now looked like a savage beast ready to kill. He glared viciously at Archie Summers, as if Archie was the man who had murdered his father.
The intensity of the glare sent a jolt of fear through Archie Summers.
But he had a strong constitution. Even if he felt a flicker of fear, he would never let it show.
Seeing the two men facing off, Mika Summers’s heart pounded in her chest. She quickly stepped forward and grabbed her brother’s arm, saying urgently, "Brother, you talk too much! Aren’t you tired?"
"Mika, if you don’t explain everything today, then I’m not tired at all." ’What a joke! This was his own sister’s safety on the line. Could he just ignore it? Of course not. He had to get to the bottom of this.’
Tristan Grayson’s icy voice cut in. "Heh... It really runs in the family." ’Like brother, like sister.’
"What’s that supposed to mean?" Archie Summers frowned, glaring angrily at Tristan Grayson.
Tristan Grayson’s lips curled into a sneer. "Exactly what it sounds like." ’So her lover boy turned out to be her actual brother. But that didn’t matter. He didn’t recall giving her permission to bring anyone else to stay in the house he’d bought!’
"You..." Even though Archie Summers didn’t know what their relationship was, he could tell just from Tristan Grayson’s tone that the man was looking down on them. He clenched his fists, ready to charge forward and beat him to a pulp.
But before he could move, his sister grabbed his arm. "Brother, please, stop asking! I already told you, we’re just roommates. I barely know him. Just go take a shower and get some rest."
"Mika, you should stay away from guys like him. Tomorrow, I’ll help you find a new place." Archie Summers said in a huff, then grabbed his suitcase and stalked toward the bathroom.
A mocking smile played on Tristan Grayson’s lips. ’Roommates? Barely know him? This woman’s acting was getting better and better. It was a real waste she wasn’t a professional actress.’
Seeing her brother finally disappear into the bathroom, Mika Summers let out a silent sigh. She then forced a smile and said, "Um, I’m sorry about that. My brother is just worried about me."
"Miss Summers, it seems you’ve been getting bolder lately. Are you starting to ignore my instructions?" ’He remembered warning her today not to take a single step out of the house, yet not only had she left, but she’d also brought a man back with her.’
Of course, she understood the meaning behind Tristan Grayson’s words.
Her expression faltered as she shook her head. "No, that’s not it. I just went to pick up my brother, that’s all."
"I told you, for the duration of our agreement, you are not to leave this place without my permission. And do you think this is a place just anyone can come?" ’Their relationship had just been made public, and here she was, bringing another man to the house. It was a good thing he was the one who saw it. If it had been anyone else, they would have snapped photos, and who knows what kind of story the press would have run with.’
’And the public image he had worked so hard to maintain would be severely damaged by rumors of her cheating.’
Hearing his cold words, Mika Summers wasn’t afraid. In fact, she found it utterly absurd. "Young Master Grayson, I think you’re forgetting something. This is *my* house now." ’She wondered who it was that transferred the property into her name when they got divorced.’
"Heh..." For a brief moment, Tristan Grayson felt utterly ridiculous. ’He’d actually forgotten that.’
