Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Your Punishment
Tristan Grayson paid her no mind, yanking open her jacket with a harsh zip.
"Ah! Tristan Grayson, what are you doing?!" Mika Summers cried in alarm, swatting at his hands.
Tristan Grayson’s lips curled into a sneer. "What’s with the act?"
Mika Summers’s eyes constricted, her body wracked with a violent shudder.
Her confusion and fear gave way to a dawning horror. She now understood what Tristan Grayson had meant by "something even worse."
"You bastard! I’m not pretending! Get off me!" All the emotions she had suppressed for years were finally about to erupt.
Crying in a fit of rage, she shoved him away with all her might.
Tristan Grayson had never been a patient man. He grabbed her hand, preventing any resistance. "Miss Summers, don’t forget you signed an agreement."
’The agreement? So he’s going to use it to force me again.’
"Tristan Grayson, our agreement clearly states that I just have to keep the divorce a secret! It says nothing about me having to endure your humiliation whenever you please!"
"Yes, the agreement does say that. But, Miss Summers, did you actually read the terms carefully?"
Mika Summers’s face turned ashen as a terrible thought occurred to her. "..."
And Tristan Grayson’s next words confirmed her suspicions. "Miss Summers, our agreement states in no uncertain terms that if I, Tristan Grayson, have any needs, you must cooperate with me unconditionally."
Tristan Grayson’s lips curled into a sneer. "Miss Summers, please remember: unconditionally! That means *no conditions*." ’Since she’s going to be ungrateful, fine. The more she fights, the more she resists, the more I’ll enjoy forcing her to submit.’
’In this world, he, Tristan Grayson, was the one who did the rejecting. No one had the right to refuse him.’
Mika Summers trembled with rage. Refusing to back down, she spat, "Tristan Grayson, you’re despicable and shameless!" ’If I had known that’s what the agreement said, I would have never, ever signed it.’
"Is that right? So that’s how you see me. How awful. But I don’t mind being even worse."
’Mika Summers knew she had thoroughly enraged him. If she couldn’t find a way to stop him now, he would show her no mercy.’
Mika Summers let out a bitter laugh.
’Even if she did love Tristan Grayson, she would not allow him to humiliate her like this.’
And so, she squeezed her eyes shut in pain, her voice catching on a sob. "Tristan Grayson... if you do this, how can you face Maggie Monroe?"
Just as she’d expected, the mention of Maggie Monroe’s name made Tristan Grayson freeze.
"Tristan Grayson, don’t you love Maggie Monroe? If you do this to me, how could you ever face her?" she pressed on, reckless.
A flash of pain crossed Tristan Grayson’s eyes, but it was quickly replaced by a cruel smile. His voice turned cold and sinister. "Yes, I’d be letting her down. But aren’t you the one who let her down in the first place?"
Mika Summers froze. "..." ’Me? Let her down? How did I ever let her down?’
But Tristan Grayson’s sinister tirade continued. "So, if this is a sin that will send us to hell, then we’ll go together... Mika Summers, you don’t have a choice!"
"You’re not getting away in this lifetime!"
She stared at Tristan Grayson in disbelief, but his next words felt as if they tore her heart to shreds.
"You’re the reason she was forced to leave the country! You’re the reason she almost died! You deserve to be punished, and this... this is your punishment!"
