"…Fine." Captain Ginyu finally nodded in resignation. He knew there was no changing Lord Frieza's decision.
His crimson eyes locked onto the frog's gaze. In the next moment, his pupils shimmered with a sinister red glow.
But just then, an overwhelming sense of danger swept over the battlefield.
A thunderous explosion erupted, and a massive shockwave leveled the entire area. Everything nearby was uprooted, blasted into the air like the wrath of a natural disaster.
Levos's head snapped upward, his pupils shrinking to pinpricks.
A black streak tore through the sky, hurtling toward Frieza with terrifying speed.
It split the night apart, stirring up a cataclysmic storm.
Frieza's expression turned grim. He reached out instinctively.
A burst of sparks lit up the sky. The sharp, metallic screech of impact echoed through the air.
Frieza had used his full strength to deflect the incoming strike.
"Hahaha… Mortals, I didn't expect you to block that!"
A mocking voice rang from the distance, echoing with arrogant disdain.
Frieza narrowed his eyes. The voice, eerily familiar, filled him with instinctive loathing.
A crack tore open in the sky, glowing with a strange dark crimson energy. A sinister aura gushed out from within.
From the tear, a figure slowly emerged.
He wore a strange outfit, grey and black, and his skin was a pale shade of green. His silver-white hair stood slightly on end, and a wicked smirk curved across his lips one that radiated godlike arrogance.
Behind him, a radiant white halo floated like a divine symbol.
When his appearance became clear, everyone froze in shock.
Future Trunks's face went pale, disbelief etched into his features.
"Zamasu…? How is he still alive?!"
Levos was just as stunned.
Born from the Potara fusion of Goku Black and the original Zamasu, this was his terrifying merged form!
Zamasu's grey eyes swept across the crowd, finally locking onto Future Trunks.
The once-handsome face twisted into a grotesque expression of malice. His eyes radiated bloodthirsty madness.
"Trunks… to think we'd meet again in this timeline."
Trunks tensed up, his voice trembling. "You… You were erased by the Grand Zeno! How are you even here?!"
Zamasu's voice turned cold and grim. "That version of me died… but"
A new ripple spread through the dark rift. Another figure began to emerge from within.
This one had a small build and an unusually large head. His skin was a bright pink hue.
Though he wore a simple, honest smile, it was offset by the sinister glint in his eyes as he stepped forward.
"…But I changed that fate."
To most, the newcomer didn't look threatening. Earth's warriors even let out a sigh of relief.
In the Dragon Ball Super manga extras, Zamasu once mistook Monaka for the strongest in Universe 7 after watching the Tournament of Destroyers through GodTube. He had even attempted to switch bodies with him using the Super Dragon Balls.
That Easter egg must have created an alternate timeline!
Levos's heart thudded. The more he thought about it, the more unsettling the theory became.
From what Dark Monaka had said, he clearly had full knowledge of the original "Future Trunks" arc possibly even more.
Dark Monaka now turned to Future Trunks, his tone ice-cold.
"Trunks… I was surprised to see you here too. But your luck's run out. You landed in a timeline where Lord Beerus is already dead."
"…What?! Who the hell are you?! You altered history itself?!" Trunks exclaimed.
Most of the others looked confused.
After all, only someone with time-travel abilities could create parallel timelines, which is why Trunks was so shaken.
The others didn't even know about the Gods of Destruction. Levos had deliberately kept Beerus's existence a secret from Earth's fighters, only confiding in Bulma and Trunks.
Resurrecting the Supreme Kai using Earth's Dragon Balls had been a spur-of-the-moment decision Levos hadn't yet figured out how to explain the God of Destruction to everyone else.
"Lord Beerus is dead…" Frieza's eyes gleamed, a sly smirk creeping onto his lips.
King Cold and Cooler exchanged glances, clearly surprised.
Dark Monaka went on, "Don't be shocked, Trunks. I am also Zamasu. Due to some… unexpected twists, I now reside in this body. You may call me Monaka Black. Or better yet, 'Divine One.'"
Frieza and Trunks both froze.
They finally understood who he was.
Frieza narrowed his eyes. "So, Monaka… what brings you to Earth?"
Dark Monaka's smile twisted into a dark grin. "To wipe out the humans, of course. This species is vile, filthy, and has no place in the cosmos."
"And after that…" Fused Zamasu spread his arms, eyes filled with fanatical light. "We will destroy all gods who protect humanity and build a perfect, divine world!"
"Pfft, Wipe out all humans? Eliminate the gods?" Cooler scoffed. "What kind of deluded lunatic dreams of such a 'perfect world'?"
"Lunatic?" Monaka Black sneered. "You haven't witnessed our true power yet."
"We will dominate all universes across every timeline."
"We will become the only gods that remain!"
The mad proclamation made everyone present grimace.
Levos found Zamasu's delusions almost laughable.
According to the manga, Fused Zamasu was around the same level as Super Saiyan Blue Goku at full power.
In this timeline, he probably couldn't even beat Cooler in his final form.
But thanks to his immortality, Zamasu was nearly impossible to kill.
Could Cell Max absorb him, perhaps?
Levos glanced over at Ginyu.
The captain looked thrilled, as if the arrival of Zamasu and Monaka Black had given him the perfect excuse to delay switching bodies with the frog.
Levos sighed in exasperation but didn't dwell on it.
His focus had already shifted.
In the dark rift above, shadows were writhing.
A chill swept through Levos's soul.
The crack in space pulsed with blood-red energy. One after another, black silhouettes emerged.
"…Who are they?" one of Earth's warriors muttered, confused.
But Future Trunks's eyes went wide in sheer horror.
"Goku… Father… And… those two… who, who are they?!"
Levos finally got a clear look at the last two arrivals.
And in that instant, he felt true despair.
