Mabel Quinn walked into the store and mentioned Kyle Kinston’s name. The manager personally came out to welcome her; she was a stunning woman in her forties, smiling warmly as she said, "Miss Quinn, Mr. Kinston has already left the gown you’ll be wearing tonight at our store. Please head to the dressing room to change."
Mabel originally thought she would be picking out a gown in the store, but she didn’t expect Kyle had already purchased one and left it there.
The store’s dressing room was large, divided into several different sections. The manager presented a gown to Mabel; it was a pale purple gown, the upper body made of pearlescent fabric with a thin layer of icy gray tulle on the lower half, looking airy and filled with a dreamy, gentle aura.
"This is haute couture from France, which just arrived this morning. Mr. Kinston truly put a lot of thought into it for Miss Quinn," the manager said with a smile.
Once Mabel changed into the gown, even the manager was amazed. It had to be said that Mabel’s fair skin, complemented by the purple gown, looked even smoother and whiter, making her appear sweeter and more gentle.
"Miss Quinn, this gown suits you well. I’ll personally style you shortly, ensuring you will dazzle everyone tonight," the manager said. Originally she only intended to style Mabel because of Kyle Kinston’s background.
But having seen Mabel in person and now in the gown, she was eager to try. Having worked in styling for many years, the manager naturally could tell that the woman in front of her was like an uncut gem, with natural beauty just waiting to be refined...
As the manager was about to lead Mabel to the makeup room, another woman emerged from a fitting room in the dressing area. Upon seeing the gown Mabel was wearing, she immediately said to the shop assistant beside her, "Why didn’t you show me this gown earlier? I want that gown she is wearing today!"
Mabel was taken aback for a moment and looked up at the woman, recognizing her old acquaintance right away. It was Alessia Quinn, the big miss of the Quinn Family’s main branch and Lyra Grant’s cousin. As far as Mabel knew, Lyra had a good relationship with Alessia.
Alessia clearly recognized Mabel too, as she sneered and walked up to Mabel, "Oh, it’s you, a member of the Quinn Family’s side branch." Alessia spoke with an air of superiority, as if speaking to Mabel was a favor.
People from the main branch have always looked down on those from the side branch, considering themselves superior.
"Sorry, this gown is privately custom-made for Miss Quinn, and it’s one of a kind," the manager standing beside Mabel said.
"Privately custom-made?" Alessia looked at Mabel with her superior expression and said, "Mabel Quinn, I want the gown you’re wearing. Just find another random one for yourself."
Her tone was like a command, as if Mabel should simply obey.
Mabel found Alessia ridiculously amusing. Did she really think her status from the main branch allowed her to order side branch members around?
Unwilling to pay Alessia any more attention, Mabel turned to the manager and said, "Please take me to the makeup room."
Alessia’s face immediately turned extremely unpleasant, a sheer act of ignoring her! "Mabel Quinn, what do you mean by this?"
