"Enough." He interrupted her to prevent Catherine Willis from making his mood worse again, "You came to me on your own today, don’t you remember the bet between us?"
"Bet?" Alice Conley looked completely confused, clearly having really forgotten.
Thus, Dorian Howards gritted his teeth and recounted the matter from the previous party about who would find whom first and that the loser would be whoever initiated contact.
"I didn’t have time to agree back then, so it doesn’t count as a bet with you." She said awkwardly.
He squinted his eyes slightly, "Are you trying to back out?"
"Back out, back out, how unpleasant! How can you back out of something that wasn’t even agreed upon!" She quickly said, "Besides, if you hadn’t suddenly acquired the Studio I work for, I wouldn’t have come looking for you. What exactly are you planning?"
This intangible sense of being controlled made Alice Conley very uncomfortable, as if he was weaving a net to completely trap her.
He raised an eyebrow and asked in return, "What plan am I up to, don’t you know?"
She paused for a moment, and then thought some things needed to be clearly explained, "Dorian, if you’re thinking of using this to reconcile with me, I advise you to forget it. We’re not suitable. Besides, I’m no stunning beauty. Even if I did attract you with my personality charm, how much is personality worth anyway? With your looks and status, plenty of beauties like you. If you really want to pick one or two with charming personalities, they’re out there."
Dorian Howards let out a cold laugh, "So you do know you’re not some great beauty. Tell me then, what charm does your personality have?"
Alice Conley rubbed her nose, thankful that her skin was thick enough not to blush, "In any case, it’s impossible for us. Don’t waste any more money on me."
"Don’t you love Money? Why, aren’t you happy when I spend money on you? You could leave me for 5 million back then, so why not be straightforward? Tell me, how much for you to come back to me?" He looked straight at her and asked.
For a moment, Alice Conley felt her heart contract sharply, 5 million, bought out her first love, and now his words were no less than a slap to her face.
Her complexion turned slightly pale, then she forced a smile, "Even if you gave me 5 billion, it wouldn’t work. Dorian, you see, our living environments are worlds apart. Being together would just exhaust both of us."
"But aren’t Kyle and Mabel Quinn together? Why don’t they feel tired?" Dorian Howards remarked sarcastically.
Alice Conley was rendered speechless.
Dorian Howards continued, "Alice Conley, have you thought about it? The more you want to distance yourself from me, the more intertwined we might become."
She pursed her lips, her eyes flickering for a moment.
He seemed to see through her current thoughts, chuckled lightly, and said, "If you change jobs again, why don’t we see if I can acquire your new Corporation as well?"
Alice Conley widened her eyes, looking at the person in front of her. He had guessed all her thoughts.
"Alice." He stepped closer to her, leaving just a half-step between them. He gazed down at her quietly, "Do I repulse you that much? Even if it’s just a little, won’t you regret it? Won’t you feel any loss? Won’t you think about being with me?"
