"You aren’t jealous about this too, are you?" she said.
"Yes, I am jealous." He said without any disguise. He loved her, so he didn’t like her thinking about other men; people from the Kinston Family always demanded absolute loyalty in this regard.
She sighed helplessly, "I was just wondering if he’s the same little brother I knew before, not thinking about anything else."
"Even so, it’s not allowed," he replied.
"You’re being too overbearing," she rolled her eyes and muttered.
"You’re right, I’m exactly like that," he said, reaching out to pull her entirely into his arms.
Enveloped by his presence, Mabel Quinn suddenly felt her face burning. Without a mirror, she knew she must be blushing fiercely at this moment.
"What are you doing? Let me go first," she shifted uncomfortably. Even with her head down, she could feel his gaze fixed on her.
But he placed one hand on her shoulder, his dark eyes staring at her, "Don’t you like me holding you?"
"No...not really..." it just made her a little unsure of what to do. Or rather, it made her feel a bit shy and embarrassed.
"If not, then you must like it," he murmured, his eyelids gently lowered, long lashes half-hiding those dark eyes, as his arms hugged her even tighter.
He liked the feeling of holding her; it gave him a sense of peace, feeling that she was right beside him, feeling that she needed him!
Her warmth, her scent, were what he cherished.
Mabel Quinn’s face turned even redder, leaning into his embrace, as if she could hear his heartbeat echoing in her ears.
"Do you love me?" he breathed, like the deepest night breeze gently brushing past her ear.
Mabel Quinn bit her red lips. His voice, his actions, made her heart race. It seemed as if her response at this moment was incomparably important to him.
"I love you," she said, her face flushed, but loyal to her feelings. Yes, she loved him, truly loved this man, wanting to be with him forever.
He slightly raised his chin, a vivid smile spreading on his handsome face, charming and captivating. His fingertips gently brushed her cheek, those dark eyes steadfastly gazing at her. The touch of his fingers felt warm and real. With her nature, speaking such words must mean she truly loved him.
He didn’t care what she loved about him, as long as she loved him, was willing to stay with him for a lifetime, then nothing else mattered.
Since he couldn’t live without her in this life, he wanted her to be unable to leave him for a lifetime too, no matter the cost.
Dependent on each other for life!
Did she know how important she was to him?

His fingers slowly moved to her eyes, whispering, "Then Mabel, you must love me for this lifetime, and you cannot leave me."
