"Hmm." Mabel Quinn responded, "I chatted with Granny Taylor for a while. Granny Taylor got tired and went to sleep first, so I came out."
"Why aren’t you wearing the ring?" Edward Quinn glanced at Mabel Quinn’s hand and asked.
"That ring is too precious, I’m afraid of losing it, so I put it away." Mabel answered.
"Jade, at the end of the day, is just a piece of stone, nothing too precious about it. Next time you come to this mansion, wear the ring, okay? Consider it a request from me." Edward said.
Such a request, no matter how strange it sounded, Mabel Quinn still nodded in agreement.
Once Mabel Quinn walked far away, Edward Quinn lowered his head, looked at his now empty left pinky, and murmured gently, "Clover, I gave the ring you once threw back at me to this child. Will you blame me? Because this child... resembles you a bit, so I want her to wear that ring, just as if you are standing in front of me with that ring again..."

During the party, Mabel stayed with her colleagues from the scriptwriting team. When a colleague suggested they all go to Daniel Harris to toast, Mabel simply said, "You guys go, I won’t."
"Mabel, don’t be , just join in for the fun of toasting together," a colleague urged.
Mabel smiled, "I won’t join in the fun."
Seeing this, her colleagues said nothing more.
Mabel then watched from afar as her colleagues went over to Daniel Harris to toast. However, Daniel didn’t raise his glass immediately but was silent for a moment, then suddenly looked over in Mabel Quinn’s direction.
Mabel’s body stiffened as her gaze met Daniel Harris’s.
Those eyes, maybe they were still the eyes in her memory, but the person was no longer the one she remembered. Mabel looked away, no longer looking at Daniel, and started chatting with colleagues from other departments next to her.
About a quarter of an hour later, her colleagues from the scriptwriting team came back after toasting, and one of them said, "I didn’t expect Director Harris to drink a toast with each of us."
