Facing an Ancient God for a Year Chapter 692

Chapter 692: Chapter 690: The Moment of Tasting (7)_1 Chapter 692: Chapter 690: The Moment of Tasting (7)_1 Fu Qian, of course, wasn’t truly bewildered, since everything about Patch was made up by him.

As someone with a mental disorder, he needed to act the part, even if all he ever heard was the neigh of horses; it didn’t prevent him from playing an awakened Patch.

As for the words that came after from Cynthia, no matter the performance, one thing was certain.

She was a real tester, utterly indifferent as to whether she could “escape” Patch’s mental assault.

Once that was established, her motivation behind anything she said could be attributed to her desire to probe and observe.

How could such a person easily believe his claims?

The words she uttered subsequently were just a testing suspicion of his disguise.

In response to such behavior, Fu Qian chose to cooperatively show hesitation and self-doubt, even suggesting that he needed to go down once more to listen to the horse neighing.

Of course, this was only the first layer; ultimately Dr. Cynthia would realize that he had deliberately adopted this attitude just to mock her.

The reason for such behavior was quite simple.

If there were more than one who firmly believed themselves to be Patch, he would become just an ordinary case, potentially entering a series of boring, standard procedures.

Considering the need for individuality, he had to stand out even more.

Therefore, Fu Qian decisively took it a step further, exhibiting an extremely despicable fraudulent nature, even deceiving the doctor’s tests.

Of course, this carried risks, for even a scammer needs an audience that understands.

If his performance was too convincing and Dr. Cynthia could find no flaw, then it would not have the desired effect; instead, it might backfire.

Luckily, Dr. Cynthia didn’t disappoint him.

Although he wasn’t sure how she managed, she truly “saw through” him.

Dr. Cynthia finally had fire in her eyes.

“You irrational lunatic!”

“Irrational? What makes you so sure that ‘reason’ is on your side?”

“Can anything you firmly believe in be true just because a bunch of fools acknowledge it amongst themselves?”

In the face of an unstable-minded researcher, Fu Qian naturally began a logical assault.

“Don’t try to influence me any longer, Mr. Patch.”

Dr. Cynthia sneered again.

“As I said earlier, given your performance, we will give you some special treatment.”

“Besides, although I can’t understand it, I’d like to say that communicating with a ‘Patch’ to this extent has actually sparked an unusual interest in me, so I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

Could she recalibrate her psychology this quickly? Truly a professional.

Fu Qian mused internally and nodded.

“Don’t worry, you won’t be disappointed.”

The next moment he stretched out his hand, gesturing at Dr. Cynthia and making a gunfire sound with his mouth.

Compared to a trembling Kuraki Rieko, the doctor was obviously much more composed, simply using her eyes to signal two guards to restrain Fu Qian.

“But if possible, I’d still like to go down once more before the sounds stop–to find my True Self, hahaha…”

With a string of typical villainous laughter, Fu Qian walked out the door escorted by the two guards.

A few minutes later, Fu Qian was locked in a new enclosed space.

Unlike before, the security here seemed much more exaggerated, even directly guarded by several officers.

Obviously, due to Fu Qian’s exceptional performance, his danger level assessment had significantly increased.

Of course, what Fu Qian cared about was how to find Gaya Ulrich.

The most ideal situation would be if Ulrich were monitoring him through surveillance.

This was not impossible.

After all, based on experience, the character he was about to eliminate was highly likely to have a significant connection with this project.

But considering the professionalism shown so far in this test, Fu Qian had not directly mentioned this name just now, so as not to startle the snake by hitting the grass.

Of course, if the target was too uncooperative, they couldn’t blame him for using more violent means.

Fortunately, the professionals did not disappoint him.

About half an hour later, Fu Qian, who had been seated on the only chair in the room, suddenly sneezed.

The next moment he raised his right hand and rubbed his nose, as if he had been chilled by a cold wind.

However, as simple as this movement was, he seemed to have some difficulty completing it.

After rubbing his nose, his hand didn’t come down properly, and Fu Qian just sat there frozen, not moving at all, even his expression becoming calm.

This posture lasted for about a minute, and with a click, the door to the room was opened from the outside.

First, two guards stood beside him, followed by a short, plump man.

He looked to be in his fifties or sixties, wearing a laboratory suit similar to Dr. Cynthia’s, though much more relaxed.

“Hello, Mr. Patch,” he greeted with a smile, after sizing Fu Qian up.

“Hi,” Fu Qian replied, his posture unchanged, his expression wooden.

“How do you feel now?” the man continued to ask.

“Not bad, it’s quiet.”

“Sorry, it’s just a little something with calming effects on the spirit. Given our risk assessment of you, we had to take some safety precautions,” the man nodded, smiling amiably as he explained.

“Please rest assured, this won’t cause you any permanent damage, it’s just to make you calm for a short while.”

“And to a certain extent, it will also make our subsequent communication more candid.”

“Considering the time sensitivity, we’d better not waste any time.”

“My first question is very simple, how should I address you now? Mr. 9527, or Patch?”

“Become calmer, did I?” Fu Qian ignored the man’s question, instead looking at his right hand hanging at his side.

The next moment, his hand slowly lifted, pressing against the side of his own face.

Under the gaze of six eyes, Fu Qian’s sharp nails ran across his cheek, tearing a deep wound from both sides.

The man’s smile instantly froze on his face.

And this was far from over. Amidst the horrified stares, his hand continued upward, slicing all the way to his ear, drawing an exaggerated smile on half of his face.

“People should be a bit happier, too quiet isn’t good.”

Teeth peeking through the wound, Fu Qian, looking like a clown, continued to speak in a calm voice.

“Impossible!” the man followed in Dr. Cynthia’s footsteps, his demeanor of having everything under control no longer present, grinding his teeth as he looked at Fu Qian.

“You’ve been paralyzed, you can’t possibly do this!”

“Really?” Fu Qian looked at him, his two sides of the face pulling into different smiles.

“If 9527 has been paralyzed, what does that have to do with me, Patch?”
