Facing an Ancient God for a Year Chapter 792

Chapter 792: Chapter 790: Brain Erosion (Part Six)_1 Chapter 792: Chapter 790: Brain Erosion (Part Six)_1 “Your mind, I think there really is a problem.”

Fu Qian’s self-evaluation undoubtedly elicited a strong reaction from the psychologist.

Dr. Nancy stared at him for a long time before finally speaking slowly.

“Sorry, although so far your story seems more plausible, as a professional, questioning everything is a basic quality.”

Fu Qian smiled and explained.

“So, to eliminate doubts, the irrefutable evidence you mentioned, can you bring it out to help?”

Dr. Nancy’s refusal was quite blunt.

“Unless you bring Kelly over, that’s impossible.”

This reaction wasn’t too surprising to Fu Qian; he nodded the next moment.

Although not a single dose of tranquilizer had been delivered, the trip had been quite fruitful indeed.

Theoretically, the sensible choice at this point would be to take all the information gathered on the way and go back to confront Kelly at the clinic.

Then it would be best to bring her here to see the irrefutable evidence together.

“I will verify what you’ve said, but before that, there are two questions I need to confirm with you.”

Dr. Nancy seemed surprised by Fu Qian’s stubbornness; yet out of anger, she finally said through gritted teeth,

“First, I’ve noticed a very strange phenomenon, and that is all the windows… no, more accurately, everywhere that could possibly show the outside, they are all sealed up. As a mental health professional, this undoubtedly seems abnormal to me, may I ask the reason why?”

Fu Qian’s words were not spoken at random. During their previous conversation, he hadn’t been inactive at all. From his observations, even the peepholes on the doors had been blocked.

Of course, the so-called mental health professionals should actually be referred to as professionals detrimental to mental health.

His words seemed to have reminded Dr. Nancy, and the next moment she was sharply startled, her face filled with panic as she looked around, as if afraid that the outside light would spill a single ray inside.

After confirming that every place was tightly secured and the only source of light was from a lamp she had turned on, she finally breathed a small sigh of relief, but her face remained tightly strained.

“Actually… telling you shouldn’t matter.”

After hesitating for a moment, she chose to answer.

“The sky outside, did you see it?”

“Yes, splendid, the rosy clouds chasing each other.”

Fu Qian nodded again and again.

Dr. Nancy’s expression twisted.

“That’s not a good sign. There’s something in there, inside those lights.”

Such a magical turn of events left Fu Qian somewhat stunned, though of course, he didn’t show it at all on the surface.

“A terrifying thing!”

Dr. Nancy’s tone was extremely serious.

“If you’re hit by that light, it will discover you. In a moment you’re unaware of, an eye will really open up in there, and just by being seen, you’ll go mad…”

There’s even such a thing; this clinic is not simple at all.

Fu Qian nodded slightly, questioning at the speed of light.

“But I’ve been walking outside for over an hour, and I didn’t feel anything unusual. And how do you know this?”

“No unusual effects, and then you forgot everything, even listening to the arrangements of a deranged, fake doctor,” Dr. Nancy said coldly.

Her words did make some sense.

“As for how I know… one of my patients told me.”

Hmm? Big sister, do you want to think over what you’ve just said?

A psychologist, taking advice from her patient?

That’s totally backwards!

Fu Qian listened with deep emotion.

“Sorry, that’s their privacy, and as a doctor, I have professional ethics.”

Dr. Nancy flatly refused.

Not bad at all, very professional.

Fu Qian nodded, not pressing the matter further.

“There’s just one last question.”

As he spoke, he picked up the bottle of tranquilizer that Dr. Nancy had taken out.

“What would it take for you to drink this down?”

“You really are crazy!”

Dr. Nancy’s emotions had gradually calmed down after their exchange, but Fu Qian’s words instantly ruined all progress.

The nearly immediate switch to a frenzy state was ear-piercing as she screamed.

“I wouldn’t drink that stuff no matter what! Get out of here right now!”

“That’s a bit overly agitated.”

Fu Qian’s smile didn’t fade, but as he slowly started to open the tranquilizer, he looked every bit the psychotic killer.

“It looks like you need a rest. Don’t worry, I’ll help you.”

“What are you trying to do?”

In the midst of Dr. Nancy’s screaming, her neck was suddenly seized, and then her jaw was pried open.

The red, transparent liquid, with no detectable scent, flowed into a line the next moment and poured down her throat.

Was this tasteless, scentless drug a bit too effective?

Seconds later, Fu Qian looked at the empty bottle in surprise.

In his other hand was Dr. Nancy, completely unresponsive.

She had lost consciousness the moment the last drop of the tranquilizer passed her lips.

The speed of its effect was exaggeratedly dominant, comparable to a causality weapon.

Of course, most importantly, it seemed he had received some good news–the mission hadn’t failed.

Fu Qian set the empty bottle on the table, placed Dr. Nancy back on the couch, and clicked his tongue in amazement.

This “real” doctor had just become the first to be medicated, but there was no indication of a failed task, which suggested two things.

Firstly, she was a patient, as his mission was to feed the tranquilizer to four patients.

Secondly, even the order hadn’t been a problem; she was meant to be the first.

Congratulations were in order, as the result was far more significant than the most logical strategy.

Of course, the risk was equally high–if a mistake was made, he would have to start over.

And the reason for choosing such a simple, brute force approach was naturally because it was worth it.

First of all, Dr. Nancy’s statements were completely at odds with Kelly’s; one of them had to be lying, meaning at least one of them was a patient.

Identifying which one it was would clarify all the clues instantly, effectively reducing the workload by more than half.

High risk, high reward. Now it was just a matter of calculating the expected outcomes.

Secondly, he had asked Dr. Nancy under what circumstances she would accept the tranquilizer, and she had said never.

That is to say, even if she turned out to be a patient later on, he could not replicate Sam’s method of forcing her to take it by negotiation; he would still have to rely on force.

Given that, he might as well test it now.

As it turned out, it was still possible. Although this place was magical, there were no untouchable safeguards.

Looking at the first patient, who was nothing more than a breathing statue, Fu Qian continued to survey his surroundings.

Considering what she had just said, should he perhaps search for that irrefutable piece of evidence?
