Facing an Ancient God for a Year Chapter 944

Chapter 944: Chapter 942: Prism (15) Chapter 944: Chapter 942: Prism (15) Alas, it seems the option of self-imposed quarantine isn’t very feasible.

During his reflection, Fu Qian tightened his grip; Henry’s struggling intensity visibly decreased.

It was evident, besides becoming more agitated, Henry’s strength had significantly increased, making control much harder than before.

Actually, determining how Henry was in the dark had another purpose for Fu Qian.

Addressing the pollution was one thing, but since the beginning, Fu Qian pondered the reason behind the disappearance of the Extraordinary Power.

At present, the most obvious aspect was also the ubiquitous colors.

Being exposed to it, pollution accumulated, and Transcendent power vanished.

So, if absolute darkness could neutralize the pollution, then Fu Qian even considered whether it might be possible to try and restore some power in the same way.

Thus far, this mission hadn’t encountered any distinctly Extraordinary Powers, but as a professional, how could one only settle for temporary solutions?

A task clearly marked by Extraordinary Power yet showing none, to say there weren’t massive crises brewing behind the scenes was overly optimistic.

While contemplating, due to lifting the cat in front of Oliver, the latter finally showed some response.

Seeing Oliver’s attention captured by the cat and hearing him call out the name, Fu Qian nodded, affirming another guess.

This guy had indeed come for the cat, and he might even be the one who locked the cat up.

As for the reason, it was still unknown and couldn’t exclude the same motive as his own to test if the cat could survive in the dark.

Adele had mentioned before that Henry often came here for the air conditioning; being caught and used as an experimental subject seemed quite reasonable.

Come to think of it, what kind of lab allows pets, even unknown pets, to just wander in and sleep…

Looking at the empty lab, Fu Qian snapped his fingers to draw Oliver’s attention and asked the fourth question.

Perhaps because Fu Qian helped find the cat, faced with this seemingly bizarre question, Oliver paused for a few seconds but then actually gave an answer.

Fu Qian raised his eyebrow, very satisfied with this answer.

“How do you go down?”

With an unchanging expression and tone, Fu Qian naturally asked.

Unfortunately, it seemed that the chance for specific answers had run out; Mr. Oliver fell back into a loop.

Fu Qian wasn’t too disappointed; it was worth a try to press further, but the information he’d already obtained was quite valuable. Next up was brainstorming time.

Imagination couldn’t be blocked even by a mosaic.

The reason for asking where the lab was simple.

So far, he had stepped into this place that seemed like a lab in two different timelines, yet the scene was almost identical each time.

It could be explained as having moved all valuable materials and equipment away after receiving a premonition of a disaster, although skeptical, as a precaution.

But for Fu Qian, he preferred a simpler possibility – this place was always , and the true lab of the research institute was elsewhere.

And Oliver’s answer to that was “below”…

At the same time, during the first exploration, he had confirmed with Red Dragon that this old building had no basement.

Eliminating the possibility of Oliver being here from some other research exchange, the explanation was simple — beneath this building, a real lab was set up in a very secretive manner.

The reason the cat could come and go above was that this place was merely a ruse.

Such a classic Umbrella Corporation move!

Fu Qian couldn’t help but exclaim.

As for how to get down there?

Whether or not Oliver responded really didn’t matter; the answer was too easy to guess – from the top floor.

Fu Qian believed the door he couldn’t open just a while ago likely hid an elevator leading directly to the underground.

And that large group of people slamming the door earlier were probably Oliver’s colleagues.

They had tried to escape due to the mishap below but were too late and got trapped there.

This one had probably come out earlier, though the reason was hard to say at the moment.

The next moment, as Oliver muttered to himself, he received a heavy blow on the head and collapsed to the ground.

After using a Tranquilizer to put Oliver down, given his baby-like sleep afterward, Fu Qian didn’t hesitate to search him.

Unfortunately, it seemed everything had been left possibly in a locker room; after searching his pockets thoroughly, apart from a few keys, there was only a plain white card.

Judging from the photo and name on it, Mr. Oliver hadn’t lied about his personal information.

“Looks could be used to access the top floor, right?”

Controlling Henry’s restlessness, Fu Qian casually pocketed the card.

Though not as ideal as imagined, this trip had been very fruitful regardless.

Including a little discovery made now – despite heavy contamination, Oliver still showed a calm unusual for ordinary people.

Perhaps as a researcher, he had tried using something to combat the pollution; it might be worth a shot to search for that.

Of course, the effect was limited regardless; he already made it to the lab and even had keys, one clearly for a safe, but still couldn’t get Henry out, indicating he was likely disoriented then.

So now the question comes.

Fu Qian looked down at himself; in just this short time, the fluorescent traces had somewhat expanded.

Now with the access card, should he risk a venture to the top floor while his mind was still relatively clear?

Though he already looked somewhat terrifying.

Fu Qian observed his reflection in nearby glass.

The tranquilizer, stained with human residue and colored deep red on his face, together with the dots of fluorescence on his body, truly resembled a psychopathic killer.

However, with the frenzied cat in his left hand, they were somewhat complementary.

Theoretically, the most rational choice seemed to be to take the gains and return to find the teamwork and rejoin the group.

There’s strength in numbers, and he believed they were likely still waiting there.

But that’s just theory.

Fu Qian looked forward to their performance acting independently, so he wasn’t planning on doing that – wait, what’s that!

While he pondered, he saw in the glass reflection, that deep red was showing a slight change again.
