Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s Chapter 303

Chapter 303: [(303)] She is not a cold-blooded animal Chapter 303: [(303)] She is not a cold-blooded animal Thump!

Tan Kelin’s fingers returned the white cloth back over the corpse’s face, his deep voice filled with the rumbling of an imminent volcanic eruption as he told her, “You do it yourself!”

Though the teacher’s tone was harsh, he actually eased up on her with his action. Xie Wanying breathed a sigh of relief.

A touch of irritation in her heart, Tan Kelin’s iron-blue eyes “fiercely” poked her on the head before turning away.

Soon after, the sound of a door slamming shut echoed from the entrance of the autopsy room, trailing off into a completely white silhouette.

The teacher had left. Xie Wanying’s eyes looked at the body of the patient in front of her, her gaze shifting gradually from confusion to steely determination.

Turning back, she stared at the patient’s face without needing to pull back the white cloth, as the features were clearly etched in her mind.

Her heart ached as if her internal organs were being grasped by claws.

The teacher’s objective had been achieved; he saw that she was no different from the average medical student.

When was she not afraid? It was precisely because she had fear that she would never allow herself to be cowardly at critical moments. Such cowardice had directly resulted in her witnessing a loved one’s death in her previous life.

This was something the teacher did not know.

The patient whom she had tried her utmost to save passed away, but in the end, having given her all, she had no regrets. She could only accept that medical science was only so advanced at this stage, and she, like all medical workers, couldn’t become omnipotent gods capable of raising the dead.

There’s a common saying among the people: if the King of Hell summons you at midnight, who dares keep you till daybreak? This phrase perfectly explained many such cases in clinical practice. Medical workers fought to save them, but in the end, some lives could not be saved.

Regardless, sadness is present. Doctors, after all, aren’t cold-blooded creatures; they have emotions. Seeing a patient they knew pass away, they always feel the fragility and the tragic pity of life.

“I’m sorry. Despite all my efforts, I still couldn’t save you.”

A murmuring whisper echoed in the autopsy room, a symbol of the realm of death, as if it could linger forever.

Thoracic Surgery Department

Chang Jiawei came along and saw Zhou Junpeng, asking, “Is he in?”

“Teacher Fu is.” Zhou Junpeng nodded to him and led him to Fu Xinheng’s office.

“Does Teacher Chang want to invite Teacher Fu for a meal?”

You little rascal!” Chang Jiawei’s hand itched to tousle the hair of the young man before him, “You’re quite sharp-tongued, just as good as me.”

Zhou Junpeng dared not compare, repeatedly saying, “How could I have Teacher Chang’s way with words? All the young ladies become enchanted as soon as they hear Teacher Chang speak.”

With a snort, Chang Jiawei pushed open the door to his old classmate’s office and walked in.

Inside, Fu Xinheng was standing by the wall water cabinet, filling his thermos with some water.

“Congratulations, congratulations, you’ve been promoted to associate senior. Everyone knows your good news, they’ve all along the way been telling me to invite you for a meal. So tell me, where do you want to eat?” Chang Jiawei said with one hand in his white lab coat pocket.

Zhou Junpeng, suddenly thrown into the situation, quickly stood off to the side and said to Fu Xinheng, “I didn’t tell Teacher Chang anything.”

“You want news, you don’t need to go through him,” Fu Xinheng turned around and said.

“Right, what do you need from me? You’re not just looking to have me invite you to lunch, are you?” Chang Jiawei asked with a smile.

This robot of an old classmate rarely sought people out for personal matters. He was a bit curious, and upon arriving, he saw that his old classmate did not seem like he was going to request a consult for a patient as before.

“Let’s have lunch together later. It’s Saturday, right?” Fu Xinheng said.

“Sure, lunch is on me,” Chang Jiawei readily replied.
