Yue Tingfeng would remember that smile on Yan Qingsi’s face for all his life. It was a smile devoid of darkness, of calculatedness— she was happy simply because she was happy, she simply smiled because of him.
There was joy, delight, a sense of dependency!
This was the purest smile he had ever seen from Yan Qingsi after all this while.
Only a single thought ran through Yue Tingfeng’s head. He wanted to be able to make Yan Qingsi’s every smile after this day like the smile she had now, bright and pure.
Ji Mianmian instantly whipped out her handphone and took a photo of that moment. The goddess could use this photo to torture her worshipper.
Yan Qingsi hurtled into Yue Tingfeng’s arms without hesitation. She did not dodge him. She did not pretend that she did not know him.
This was her boyfriend. She was not breaking the law, and her boyfriend was not so ugly that he could not show his face in public. There was no need for them to sneak about every single second. She did not want herself nor Yue Tingfeng to feel so stressed out.
However, she would still hide his face in front of the media people to prevent unnecessary gossip, and to avoid troubling Yue Tingfeng.
With one hand wrapped around Yan Qingsi’s waist, Yue Tingfeng fully encircled her with his arms. He lifted her up a bit.
She threw her arms around Yue Tingfeng’s neck. She did not wait for his respond to kiss him.
The sun overhead was scorching, and Yan Qingsi wore a cotton qipao lined with a thick layer of more cotton. The fake blood in the pouch strapped around her chest still leaked red. A bright scarlet color stained the front of Yue Tingfeng’s white shirt, as if a red flower had suddenly bloomed.
An unpleasant odor clung onto Yan Qingsi. Who knew where the prop master had dug her clothes out from? They had purposely made it look moth-eaten and filthy. Additionally, perspiration that soaked her body, and the weather continued to blaze. This entailed an ill combination for the sense of smell.
Yet Yue Tingfeng did not care at all. He tilted his head downwards and clung onto her, wanting to prolong the kiss.
Ever since he had been with Yan Qingsi, his wants in life had greatly lessened. His picky, rebellious habits from before had vanished, the kind where he would eat an entire year’s worth of a regular family’s living in a single meal.
With a wife, everything was enjoyable.
As long as Yan Qingsi was there, he would go along with anything. Nothing was a problem.
As long as she was there, everything was great!
Yue Tingfeng loosened his grip on Yan Qingsi after a long while.
Neither party wanted to let go despite the broiling temperature. Yan Qingsi had always thought that she did not really think about Yue Tingfeng— or at least, she thought about him very little.
However, Yan Qingsi had suddenly felt a sense of longing springing in her heart when she had spotted him in the crowd from afar.
She had missed him so much.
His voice, his face, his breathing— she missed everything. She never felt safe during the nights when she slept without him.
Yan Qingsi lifted her face. “Why did you come here?” she asked.
Yue Tingfeng pinched Yan Qingsi’s cheeks and wiped the sweat dribbling down her nose away. “If I didn’t come, I think… I’d be kicked out of bed for one week.”
Yan Qingsi shook her head. “It won’t happen…”
“Are you that benevolent now?”
Yan Qingsi extended a hand. “It’ll be two weeks.”
Yue Tingfeng was speechless.
Alright, luckily he came. Otherwise… he’d be kicked out of bed for two weeks.
