Maxwell Peary held his forehead, only just realizing that he hadn’t yet informed Rabina Mitchell about his job.

"Are you kidding me?"
Nia Mitchell shot Alan Morgan a contemptuous look and plopped down onto the sofa. "Uncle Peary is indeed quite wealthy, but to say he’s the CEO of MC Group? Do you enjoy fooling me? And to lie right in front of Uncle Peary? Such a fabrication would be debunked in minutes, wouldn’t it?"
Alan Morgan’s eyes widened. He turned to look at Maxwell Peary and shrugged slightly. It wasn’t his fault; this young lady simply refused to believe it.
Pouting, Nia Mitchell turned her head to look at Maxwell Peary, then reached out and patted his head.
"It’s okay. We don’t need to compare ourselves to those Local Tyrants from MC. Uncle, you’re already very, very rich. Look at where we live and what we eat—we’re not lacking anything, are we?"
Listening to Nia Mitchell’s heartfelt reassurances, Maxwell Peary chuckled.
Alan Morgan just stood there, completely stunned. Who could save him? He’d just returned from a business trip abroad, and everything had changed. Maxwell Peary pulled Nia Mitchell into his arms, gently brushing aside a strand of hair that had fallen across her face.

"Yes," Maxwell Peary nodded, his gaze fixed on her eyes, unwilling to miss a single one of her expressions.
"Then, does that mean I’ll be working at MC too? You told me yesterday that I could be your secretary, right, right, right?" Nia Mitchell exclaimed, excitedly kneeling on the sofa as she looked at Maxwell Peary with anticipation.
"Welcome, Mrs. Peary, to using the back door."
"Wow!" Nia Mitchell declared, giving Maxwell Peary an enthusiastic bear hug. She then jumped off the sofa and made a V-for-victory sign. "This is great! I’m going to work at MC!"
An ecstatic Rabina Mitchell jumped up and down; not only did one of her slippers fly off, but as she jumped down from the sofa, she also knocked over the glass of water in Maxwell Peary’s hand.
Young Master Peary was drenched, his white shirt instantly soaked through.
"Sit properly. You have no manners at all."

Nia Mitchell, in her excitement, chattered on endlessly. Listening to her, Maxwell Peary felt a headache coming on, his temples throbbing.
"As long as you’re happy, do whatever you like."
"Oh yeah! Uncle, I like you the most!"
Alan Morgan retreated a few steps, getting clear of the immediate drama, his mouth twitching. He felt like he’d stumbled upon a massive secret. Would he be silenced for knowing too much?
