Robert Perez furrowed his brows, deep in thought and genuinely confused. According to common sense, this young girl in front of him really didn’t seem important enough for Young Master Peary to stand up for her.
Victoria Perez was full of arrogance, while Nia Mitchell merely rolled her eyes quietly.
"If you don’t leave now, I’ll call the security guards," Nia Mitchell said, standing up. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝⚑𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖⚑𝕟𝕖𝕥
"If I remember correctly, Maxwell Peary warned you last night to prepare yourselves for his wrath."
A smile returned to her face as she now fully understood why Victoria Perez and her father, Robert Perez, had come.
Perhaps Maxwell Peary had done something that harmed their company, so they had come here looking for him.
This was Maxwell Peary’s private booth, the only place they could likely access him; they wouldn’t be able to meet Maxwell Peary at the MC Group.
It was also possible they had coincidentally seen waiters entering and exiting this area, which was why they had come over.
Victoria Perez clenched her fists. She was seething with anger.
"What are you gloating about?"
Enraged, Victoria Perez swept the fruit plate from the table in front of Nia Mitchell. It crashed to the floor with a loud clatter, its contents scattering and grapes rolling everywhere.
"What do you think you’re doing?" Nia Mitchell yelled, her voice laced with fury. She was particularly indignant and angry. They were just talking; what right did Victoria Perez have to sweep her fruit plate to the floor?
BANG! Nia Mitchell slammed her hand on the table in front of her.
"Both of you, get out of here! Otherwise, don’t blame me for being impolite!"
Her chest heaving, Nia Mitchell fumed. She could ignore others making a scene and shouting in front of her, but she couldn’t tolerate anyone smashing things or, worse, resorting to violence in her presence.
Victoria Perez was startled for a moment, clearly not expecting the usually quiet Nia Mitchell to erupt .
But her shock lasted only a moment before she composed herself.
"So what if I don’t leave? What can you do?"
She stood there obstinately. Beside her, Robert Perez looked somewhat embarrassed but still made no move to leave.
"Fine! If you won’t leave, I will!" Nia Mitchell yelled irritably and was about to leave when Victoria Perez grabbed her arm.
"Don’t even think about leaving! I won’t let you go! Let me tell you, even if the Perez Family is severely weakened right now, I still have ways to make you wish you were dead but unable to die!"
Victoria Perez gnashed her teeth. Nia Mitchell’s head was starting to ache from her tirade.
"Let go of me!" Nia Mitchell yelled angrily, struggling a few times without success.
"Victoria Perez, let go!" Robert Perez urged, stepping forward immediately. He sensed that things were taking a bad turn. If this young woman truly was connected to Maxwell Peary, and if Victoria Perez harmed her, they genuinely wouldn’t be able to withstand Young Master Peary’s wrath.
Victoria Perez stomped her foot. Her father’s grip on her hand was painfully tight, and she had no choice but to release her hold on Nia Mitchell.
"Victoria Perez, you mustn’t resort to violence! You need to change that temper of yours, or you’ll end up dragging the entire Perez Family down with you!"
Robert Perez sternly reprimanded her. Victoria Perez couldn’t stand it. Wasn’t her father usually doting on her? Why was he berating her relentlessly today?
"My temper is what it is! I’ll always be ! If you don’t like it, you can ignore me or abandon me again!"
Her words were like sharp thorns, piercing directly into Robert Perez’s heart. She had indeed always resented him for abandoning her all those years ago.
"Hasn’t that already passed?" Robert Perez asked, feeling helpless, his voice weak.
"Passed?" Victoria Perez tilted her head back, the corners of her mouth curling into a smirk, her eyes filled with malice.
