Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot Chapter 69

Nia Mitchell had no desire to listen to them anymore and quickly left while the two of them were arguing.

Once outside the private booth, the air felt much fresher, and the atmosphere was exceptionally lively. Every table was filled with guests. The place was packed.

"Thief! Stop right there!"

Suddenly, a woman rushed out of a private booth and thundered, attracting the attention of everyone in the restaurant.

Nia Mitchell heard it and frowned; the voice sounded a lot like Victoria Perez.

As everyone’s gaze turned in that direction, Nia Mitchell also turned to look. She saw Victoria Perez jogging up to her. The most update n0vels are published on 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡~𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢~𝙣𝙚𝙩

"Thief, you stole my diamond ring!"

Victoria shouted, her voice loud enough for everyone in the restaurant to hear.

The corners of Nia’s mouth twitched. Is this woman ever going to let this go?

"What are you talking about?"

Victoria Perez, who had looked anxious, broke into a smile upon seeing Nia.

"You stole my diamond ring, right there in that private booth."

She stretched out her finger, pointing towards Maxwell Peary’s private booth.

"In that private booth, besides you, only my father was present. Do you think you could really get away with stealing something like a diamond ring? I noticed it was missing the moment I raised my hand."

Victoria stood there, looking smug and self-assured, her words sharp and challenging.

"I did not steal your ring."

Being stared at by everyone felt awful. Nia couldn’t be bothered to deal with Victoria and was about to slip away. Why does Victoria keep pestering me ?

"I’m going to search your bag. You definitely stole my diamond ring."

As Victoria spoke, she reached out to snatch Nia’s bag, but Nia, of course, wouldn’t let her.

"I haven’t stolen anything! On what grounds can you search my bag?"

Victoria sneered. "That ring is custom-made in Italy. You look like a pauper. That’s your motive for stealing my diamond ring! When I arrived at Madgar Pavilion, the diamond ring was still on my finger. By the time you left the private booth, my diamond ring was gone."

Her words sounded plausible, and everyone present began to believe that Nia had indeed stolen the ring.

"Whether or not I stole anything, *you* know perfectly well!" Nia declared, then turned sharply to Robert Perez. "And *you* know it too!"

She believed that, compared to his daughter, he still possessed some conscience.

Nia refused to believe he would stand by and let his daughter falsely accuse her.

"This... Victoria, let’s just drop it," Robert Perez said as he stepped forward. He hesitated for a moment, then tried to reason with her.

Victoria looked at her father, her face filled with sorrow.

"Dad, I know you want to smooth things over, but this diamond ring is very important to me. It was the gift you gave me when I first returned home. I can’t lose it."

Her tearful act successfully garnered the sympathy of the onlookers.

Truly, people’s morals weren’t what they used to be. It was often said that because victims were too soft-hearted, thieves only grew more audacious.

Instantly, the surrounding crowd began to murmur heatedly:

"This thief can’t be let go!"

"Exactly! Stealing a diamond ring right off someone’s hand is outrageous."

"I can’t believe something would happen at Madgar Pavilion."

"That woman clearly has no money. How did she even get in?"

"Why aren’t they calling the police?"

"TSK, TSK. It seems that private booth over there is rented year-round by some big shot."

Nia clenched her fists. "I didn’t steal anything! My innocence will speak for itself. I will not submit to your search unless you call the police and *they* demand to search my bag."

Victoria hadn’t expected Nia to be so stubborn, refusing a search no matter what.

"Even if the police come, you’ll still have to undergo a search, won’t you? If you insist you didn’t steal the diamond ring, why are you afraid of being searched now?"
