Yara Reagan paused, lowered her eyes to look at Iris Lockwood, then sat back down, putting away her phone, and looked at her leisurely.
"What are you afraid of?"
"I always feel like something’s missing when Evelyn’s not around," Iris Lockwood said softly. "I always feel unsafe."
Yara Reagan pressed her lips together without a word.
Their friendship, between her, Iris Lockwood, and Evelyn Clayton, had seemingly always been that way.
Evelyn Clayton seemed to be their backbone.
That time they fought, when Yara Reagan went home from the company, at her angriest, she always felt like she was just a small follower around Evelyn Clayton, simply echoing and trailing after her.
