Xia Ning’s heart skipped a beat. She stared at the man in front of her in disbelief. Was this really Qiao Yu?! Why did he say such dirty words?! Did he really think he was the overbearing CEO?!
“Have you been reading those overbearing romance novels lately?!” Xia Ning asked directly. These kinds of words were said by the male leads in cheesy romance novels.
“What?” Qiao Yu frowned and looked at Xia Ning with confusion.
Overbearing CEO?
The corner of Xia Ning’s mouth twitched. “Why are you getting more and more like a rogue nowadays?”
Seeing Xia Ning’s calm face, Qiao Yu frowned even more. “Aren’t all women into men playing rogue? There’s a saying that ‘women love bad guys’.”
…Xia Ning looked at Qiao Yu somewhat helplessly. Where did he hear this from? Why did she feel like he read some kind of weird book? She nudged Qiao Yu. “Stop messing around. I want to wash the vegetables.”
Seeing Xia Ning’s undisturbed attitude towards him, Qiao Yu’s face turned a little darker. He held the back of her head and kissed her directly. To be more accurate, he was biting her, wildly and hugging her.
“Ssss!” Xia Ning felt the pain and glared at the magnified handsome face in front of her. What was this person doing?!
She pushed him, but the man did not let her go. He was playing dirty to prove his existence.
When it was time for dinner, Enoch looked at Xia Ning’s red lips and asked, “Mummy, did your mouth get bitten by a mosquito?”
Xia Ning’s face turned red immediately. She glared at Qiao Yu across her and said to Enoch, “Yeah, there have been mosquitoes lately and they are big mosquitoes.”
“Mummy, once we are done eating, I will hit the mosquitoes for you,” Enoch said at once.
Xia Ning touched Enoch’s head. “Sure, good baby.” As she spoke, she darted a look at Qiao Yu. “Let’s hit the ‘Mosquito’ properly.”
Qiao Yu acted as if he did not hear it at all and lit the candles on the cake.
After the birthday song, it was time to make a wish. Qiao Yu closed his eyes and made a serious wish.
Enoch blew out the candles. He could not wait to eat the cake.
Xia Ning darted a look at the calm Qiao Yu across her. “What wish did you make?”
“You want to know?” Qiao Yu looked up at her with some emotion in his eyes.
Xia Ning felt that this wish had something to do with her. Her eyes flashed. “No.” As she spoke, she went to cut the cake for Enoch.
Qiao Yu looked at her with dark eyes and did not talk. The family of three ate the cake.
After dinner, Xia Ning played with Enoch for a short while and sent him upstairs to her room to sleep.
Qiao Yu looked at Xia Ning’s grey bedroom. This room was similar to the one in the apartment she stayed in before. She seemed to like this kind of color.
Just like her personality now, plain and cold. But in his memory, she was lively and cheerful. It was the light that traveled into his life all of a sudden. Too bad he did not know back then and that was why he missed it.
Xia Ning tucked Enoch in and kissed him on the cheek. She then turned around and said to Qiao Yu, “You should go take a shower first. I’ll get you some clothes.” As she spoke, she walked out.
Seeing her leaving, Qiao Yu’s heart suddenly felt empty. Fear grew in his heart as if she would leave his world the second she left.
Xia Ning walked to the door and was about to go to the bedroom next to her. Someone suddenly walked past her and pushed her out of the door onto the wall. Before she could react, he started kissing her like crazy.
