Tang Li had her palm facing down as she extended and retracted her four fingers, beckoning him to lower his head even further down.
Tang Yichen, who at one point had walked towards her lowered his head to her level as he chuckled seeing her hand gesture. It has been a habit of hers over the years. Whenever she called him like that, she would always whisper something in his ears.
Her one hand was on his shoulder and another covered her mouth as she whispered in his ear; just the way he predicted it, "You have always been the best brother. But, why are you so slow as a boyfriend? Didn't I suggest you solve your problems in bed? Why have you both not moved on to the further stage?"
Tang Yichen almost choked on air. What boyfriend?! He has yet to reach that stage.
To protect his reputation, he quickly stood up straight as a wry smile appeared on his face, "Don't worry about me, you should take care of yourself." He patted her head dotingly.
The Mo siblings were unaware of their little discussion at this point.
A sudden succession of shrill rings interrupted the peace. Peering towards the phone, Tang Yichen raised an eyebrow. "I have to take this call. Excuse me," He said before walking out of the room with large strides.
Tang Li lazily leaned back on Mo Yuhan's chest. Just as Mo Jia was about to excuse herself, a nurse came knocking at the door urgently.
Mo Yuhan furrowed his brows in irritation but before he could say anything, Tang Li held his hand, "It might be something urgent."
"Come in," Mo Jia frowned slightly.
The nurse immediately entered inside in a panicked state. But before she could say something, her eyes landed on Mo Yuhan. Her eyes widened in disbelief 'Pr... President Mo is hugging a woman so intimately?'
Is he the same man referred to as the devil? No one would believe her if she told them what she saw.
"What are you here for? This is a VIP suite, don't you know that you are not allowed to cause such disturbances here?" Mo Jia coldly asked.
"I apologize for that. Dr. Mo, there is an emergency with..." Her eyes wandered off to the couple on the bed and she hesitated to speak any further.
"Speak."
"That... It's about Old Master Song, he seems restless again due to his insomnia."
Tang Li slightly stiffened at the mention of Old Master Song, she turned around to look Mo Yuhan who further nodded his head, indicating that he was aware of the matter.
"It's normal, give him a dose of conscious sedation. It will make him sleepy," Just as the nurse was about to leave, Mo Jia added, "You should know how to keep your mouth shut."
The girl in her early twenties glanced at the couple on the bed before nodding her head. She of course knew how to keep her mouth shut, she didn't have a death wish at all.
"How is he now?" Mo Yuhan asked Mo Jia.
"For now, he is alright."
Tang Li frowned "What exactly happened? I met him a few days ago and he seemed fine..."
Mo Yuhan fondled her hair before answering her, "Maybe the sudden shoot-out gave him a fright," His eyes darkened as he further added, "Or the assassination attempt triggered the darker side of his thoughts; maybe some old trauma, it could be anything."
"It happened that day?"
He nodded his head.
Mo Jia was curious about what they were talking about but she knew when to halt her curiosity. The matters related to the couple rarely as simple as they appeared to be, so it was better if she stayed out of it.
"How is his condition right now?'' Tang Li muttered softly; unsure whether she was asking or wondering. It somehow made her feel uneasy to know what happened to the old man.
"He suffered a Transient Ischemic Attack. President Song wanted to take him abroad because the procedures there are not that time taking. But his condition right now turned out to be unsuitable for traveling. So, he had decided to get his surgery done by me. I have kept him under observation for a few days and procedures are almost finished. The surgery will take place tomorrow," Mo Jia detailed them about Old Master Song's condition.
Tang Li frowned. Her hands trembled for a moment before she controlled her emotions. That somewhat stern yet funny old man has always been good to her, there was a weird feeling in her heart that she couldn't pinpoint.
The ringing of the phone interrupted her thoughts as she turned around to look at Mo Yuhan, who took out her phone from his pocket before passing it to her.
Looking at the caller ID, she furrowed her brows. It was past midnight already, why would she call her?
She swiped it upwards before answering the call, "Yes?.... What? Right now?!... Fine, send it to me." After hanging up the call, she glanced at Mo Yuhan with pleading eyes, "Lin Shi is sending the legal business contract for the partnership of the construction of Diana Mall. Check it out for me please?"
A doting smile appeared on his face as he accepted the phone from her hands.
There was no need for him to answer verbally as she knew he will not deny her request, so she further added, "That... Yuhan, I want to see Old Master Song."
"Alright."
Tang Li turned around to look at Mo Jia who nodded, agreeing to accompany her.
"Prepare a wheelchair for her," Mo Yuhan added before Tang Li could jump off the bed.
