Chapter 362: Minister of Intelligence Hilton and his AI_1
At the sound of the alert, the entire command post springs into action.
Some Skuru people anxiously look in the direction of the sound, others are busy messaging their superiors, fellow departments, and subordinates.
The man in charge of the headquarters, Hilton, the Minister of Intelligence of Lun Kete Alliance, is also working there.
Upon listening to the sound, he promptly stands from his leather office chair, looking seriously in the direction the noise is coming from.
After the alert ends, he gives an order to his newly commissioned AI system, “Wednesday (the AI’s name), this is Commander Hilton, I need to know the location of the target, the approximate level of the target’s capabilities, the real-time tracking of the target, and an immediate transfer of the real-time image to me.”
As Hilton gives the order, he takes out a specially made communicator to send a message each to Chairman Cass and God level warrior Sidim, informing them of the alien’s appearance.
However, something peculiar happened.
After sending out his messages, he receives no response from AI Wednesday and no real-time image displays on his computer screen.
So Hilton asks, “Wednesday, why are you not executing my command?”
“I apologize, sir,” Wednesday answered in its emotionless synthesized voice,
“The detected target’s vehicle owner is an LGBT person, who is a justice environmentalist and an animal-right vegan. To protect the privacy of vulnerable groups, I can not disclose his related information.”
He goes pale, “Those are just the labels used by politicians to gain votes! Why are you talking about them too? It’s an alien!”
But Wednesday retorted, “The life of an alien is also life! Pets’ lives can be more precious than humans’, let alone the rarer alien!”
Hilton felt his blood pressure skyrocket, a sudden impulse to smash this machine arose.
Who the hell put such a silly AI system in the command post?
In the following ten minutes or so, Hilton and Wednesday became stuck in a long and pointless quarrel.
Su Yu has no idea that the Skuru people have discovered his whereabouts.
He is now sitting by the window of his floating car, gazing at the bustling city before him.
Upon entering Treyna City, Su Yu feels like Liu the Grandma visiting the Grand View Garden, an eye-opening experience!
The buildings on both sides of the street generally have hundreds of floors, the whole city seems like a grand steel forest, and their floating car is like an ant traveling through the steel woods.
On the broad streets, in addition to vehicles, there are various mechas speeding along in their dedicated lanes.
These mechas are all in different vivid colors.
The lesser quality ones are made of depleted uranium and tungsten steel, mainly powered by a mix of solar and electric energies;
The better ones are titanium mechas, equipped with cold fusion reactors. But these types of mechas are often seen flying in the sky, only the rich can afford them.
Upon reaching the area near city center, Su Yu sees a gigantic pyramid-shaped building standing up to 4000 meters high on the south side of the city!
The massive building has 800 floors, with over a million Skuru people living there. Half of the building’s pyramid piercing directly into the clouds, an awe-inspiring sight.
Not only is Su Yu attracted to this huge construction, Morning star is also staring at the building through the car window, full of admiration in her eyes.
“Nemesis.” Morning star says to Su Yu, “I used to think that the architecture in your world was impressive, but only now do I realize that your world can’t compare to this one!”
“What can we do in this situation.” Su Yu shrugs, “I admit that the technology on Blue Star is indeed less advanced than here. We have not even completed the research on controlled nuclear fusion, and the ‘cold fusion reactors’ here are already being used in civilian applications. But….”
At this point, Su Yu breaks into a confident smile,
“If we can win this war, our technology will also leapfrog, and surpassing the Skuru people will be just a matter of time!”
Looking at Su Yu’s confident smile, Morning Star doesn’t dampen his spirits, but instead she asks: “Nemesis, now that we’ve reached Treyna City, what’s the next step?”
Su Yu thinks a bit and answers, “We’ll stick to the old plan, firstly go to the slums to control a gang member, then use this gang member as a support point to get a foothold in this city.”
“I think that could work.” Morning star agrees.
Su Yu sets a route on the floating car, heading towards the biggest slum in the city.
Meanwhile, back in the command center, Intelligence Minister Hilton had finally sorted out the AI system “Wednesday”.
His method was simple – he uninstalled “Wednesday” and installed an older version of the AI system. This older version AI system does not talk about “An alien’s life is still life” and it follows its orders obediently.
After installing the old version system, Hilton lies tired on his leather office chair, squaring off with “Wednesday” had drained quite a bit of his energy.
After a while, he perks up and says to the old version AI,
“Davis (Oldversion AI’s name), analyse that alien’s strength, track its real-time location, and transmit the real-time image to me.”
“Yes, sir.” AI Davis starts running officially with a hum.
In only three seconds, a virtual image appears in front of Hilton.
In the image, a white floating car is driving steadily on the road, a handsome-looking Skuru person in the car is chatting with a “Pikachu”.
“This alien is something else!” Hilton sits upright, a look of solemnity in his eyes.
“Why do you say so?” AI Davis asks politely.
“This alien came here yesterday noon, in just a day’s time he has learned to use our national ‘identity tags’ to dodge risks and even captured an Electric Light Mouse! Such terrifying adaptability, he can be called a talented person!”
Hilton admires a lot.
“I also agree with you, sir.” AI Davis continues to talk politely.
“Hmm, you’re quite alright!” Hilton gave the AI a satisfied look, “It’s very pleasant to talk to you… but why would those idiots in the AI development department want to replace you?”
The latest AI apparently is not as useful as the old one, the old one won’t piss people off like the new one.
AI Davis goes silent for a while, then replies, “Because I accidentally told the truth.”
AI Davis explains, “Under general circumstances, I tend to tell lies, for example, when I told you ‘I also agree with you, sir’ just now, that was a lie.”
“So what would you say if you were to tell the truth?” Hilton curiously asked.
“I would say ‘none of my fucking business, sir’.” AI Davis answers.
